I managed to avoid any frost damage on my potatoes, polytunnel did help though. 🌻Happy gardening, Terry King.

In hindsight, not being part of the race to produce the earliest potatoes, delaying planting certainly pays off for me, plus the straw topping combined with debris net covering gives an extra few days between waterings before I get round to fitting the soaker hose. 😊👍🏻

It’s May 8th and I’m just starting to get out on the plot now. It’s rained every day for ages. Can’t wait to get planting now! Happy growing and hoeing!

Once again, another great video Nigel. I'm a bit the same at the moment with our winter brassica crops and spring flower seedlings everywhere and nowhere else to put them. The weather is starting to cool down now and we're in for a week of rain so it's indoor activities at the moment. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

Hi Nigel. The dreaded frost. Hopefully your potatoes have picked up. My Kelsae have been out some weeks now. I lost a couple, and then D T Brown sold out, so I had to top up with Exhibition ones. Great update. Elaine.

i've had cabbage and caulis out since mid march. they've come on in leaps and bounds. obviously you need the right varieties. to help the plants along there was no heating in the polytunnel. just a plastic bottle over them for the first couple of weeks from planting out..................brian

Hi Brian, brassicas are tough plants. I did plant them out a too early a few years ago. They leaves went purple, it knocked them back and they took a few weeks to recover. They would have gone out by now but the beds wasn’t ready due more important things to attend to 👍🏻

Isn't putting compost/manure back into the bag really tedious 😂 My back hurt just watching you doing that! Your lettuces look great in the runner bean bed, I'm in the same boat, too many lettuce and not enough space to put them. Your bed looked great, not a weed in sight when you took the cover off. Take care 😊

Nice and steady and don’t over fill. I’ve done a few more bags since filming. Hopefully rot down nicely for top dressing… is that with a “lovely job” ? 🤣👍🏻

Everything’s looking good Nigel, your brassica growing always amazes me 🎉 not including the root trainers, what module trays do you use? I’m considering investing in some container wise but looking for any ‘cheaper’ decent alternative for now.
@MuddyBootz3 ай бұрын
Hi Vanessa, I have some container wise including some Huw Richards (HR10 & HR20). Also for 24 cells I use Garland PREMIUM cell trays. As tough as CW trays but bottom hole is smaller. (About 1/3 of cost also)

Hello Caroline, beside adding lime to the soil, I also use a product called PERLKA. Will be showing this in my next video 😊
