My neighbor had one exactly like it when I was a kid. Standard cab, longbox, diesel, manual, 4x4, brown paint, tan interior. Sometimes, he'd give me a ride to my bus stop. I remember thinking the manual shifter seemed almost as long as I was tall! 😂

I've always loved these engines, and I also love the colors and paint schemes that used to come in, the one I have now is tan on the top and the bottom and dark fire red in the middle and it has red interior.

Clay do you have contact information for the buyer who won this truck on BAT last year? I would like to contact them, but BAT does not let that information out. Thanks.

Pretty baby. Sounds great! I test drove a '87 Dodge w/ the Cummins 12 valve. Just regular driving & shifting there was a weak spot around 30-35 mph, it just ran out of power. Then above 35 it came back & it drove normal. But the IDI wasn't like that. I think the Dodge might've been a gearing issue. Whatever, the dummies at Ford should've just left the 6.9/7.3 alone. Let International do the engine & have Ford work on mating an automatic tranny. But no; Ford wanted more money & that's why the 6.0/6.4 were such a disaster. Now, the 6.7(which is junk) is a $10,500 option & the 7.3 Petrol is $1,700. Ford=money; customer=0.

I know a few guys with 6.7's. Never had a problem. 2013 250k+ miles bone stock
@carmiethompson26763 жыл бұрын
@@IndirectInjection Yeah...2013. The 6.7 came out in 2011 & it had issues. Some of the YT vlogs talked about it. So two years after release I would think Ford should've been able to figure out the reliability issues. Did you catch the current price disparity from my first comment? I don't doubt that the 6.7 could run fine for as long as a Diesel is expected to run. Now, w/ the 'Green" EPA BS emission regulations, that aren't that effective, Ford looks like it's going to take a different route & it's one of money & nothing of benefit to the customer.
@cloakdaggercustoms39033 жыл бұрын
No modern diesels are reliable unless you delete and tune them. The 6.7L PS is an absolute beast of an engine that is extremely reliable with a few mods that any diesel should get anyway.
@carmiethompson26763 жыл бұрын
@@cloakdaggercustoms3903 It's the age-old tale of giving manufacturing compromises a priority over customer trust in product reliability & dependability. The biggest fault is the 'climbing the Corporate ladder' syndrome. Those on the climb must show an ability to 'make money'. The people at the top should be concerned w/ the company's reputation & customer experience. But they blame fickle customers. It's never on them.
@cloakdaggercustoms39033 жыл бұрын
@@carmiethompson2676 That's absolutely a problem but I think I this situation it's more the fact that governments need all that emissions crap. Because without that these are all reliable engines.
