I loved Snyders Late Late show back in the 90s. Everyone seemed to have forgotten it but me. I remember the commercial promos he'd have during the afternoon on tv

Dave and T.S. were the very best two hours of Late Night Television in the mid to late 1990's. I have often wondered why David did not appear on "The Late Late Show" after 1997. Did he and Tom have a falling out? Great segments. Thanks for sharing.

Giller, you are the Killer! Killing us all with some of the greatest clips of all times. Was a Dave fan since I got sick as a grade schooler. Then he disappeared. Till late night. If I had to choose 5 favorites, Johnny, Dave, Conan, Ferguson, and pulling up a weak fifth, is aww crap, going old school with Parr. All the best. 2024 is what we needed in 2020. God bless.

I simply cannot thank you enough for posting this! Dave’s off center sense of humor included - these were masters of their craft. And it really goes to show that you don’t have to be the same type to appreciate real talent. Tom & Dave’s styles were absolutely different - but Dave especially saw the genius that was Tom Synder finding fascinating conversation - sometimes seemingly plucking it out of thin air. And unlike Carson, Dave saw Tom Synder as a brilliant, intellectual and sometimes just plain charming, compliment to his own show. I watched The Late Late Show all while I was in high school - and seeing Tom Synder in top form again fills me with joy and just a little bit of sadness realizing this type of late night persona is gone forever.

Tom Snyder's an excellent interviewer, and everyone knows why. When David Letterman decided to bring Tom over to CBS, everyone applauded him. That made Dave an amazing man.

Thank you for this vid too (I loved the Bonnie Hunt on Letterman anthologies)! I have chills being brought back to sitting in my house as a teen watching Letterman and Snyder (on the nights I stayed up extra late). I remember how excited I was when Letterman was on Snyder so I could learn more about him.

@@gstockwell5315 I’m relatively sure that the music was especially composed for the show - the various takes are pretty short - the show intro, an interlude between commercial breaks, and a longer one during the Friday night full credits - and so they likely wouldn’t be available on any commercial release.

I miss late night shows like Tom's, more of a conversation usually with just one person and not just a line-up celeb's giving a five minute sales pitch for whatever their latest project was; you got more of a sense of what the person was really like - good or bad. Tom, Dick Cavett, and most of all....Les Crane.

I got on air three times with questions…Della Reese, Pierre Salinger and I honestly cannot remember who the other guest was. But for the Salinger spot, I began calling in before the show began. I was asked if I wouldn’t mind helping out with an audio check on before the show began and of course I said yes. I was asked to say the alphabet a couple times 😂 that’s all.

Gold gold gold gold gold. And there's a common thread and it seems to tie all of what I perceive to be the greats: intelligence. High intelligence. Dave, 100% and as fast on the draw as Steve Allen. Shandling - true genius. Larry King, certainly. Snyder? Yes, if you unwind the common sentiment formed by Akroyd (genius move by Dan though)!

Don, I know you're 'on the inside' with WWP now, but if your schedule permits I'm sure your audience would love to see more TLLS content from all three host eras during its WWP ownership. Tom Snyder was truly a treasure, Craig Ferguson always was entertaining; and while he may not have been everyone's favorite cup of tea, the amount of TLLS with Craig Kilborn content is remarkably little given his five years behind the desk. If you documented/kept those to even 1/10th the level you did LSwDL? I for one would enjoy seeing more of it.

I loved Scottish Conan Guy and taped all of his shows as well as Kilborn’s, which didn’t grab me as much. But I’ve digitized none of them (except for that small tribute to Grant Imahara). Also, I’d need permission. This latest upload came about from circumstances I can’t really talk about, but it was a special agreement. I doubt the same would apply to Kilborn and Ferguson.
@mactheknife7049
@mactheknife7049 Жыл бұрын
@@dongiller Well Don, if you can get the permission via WWP? I think I might be able to handle digitization. My recently deceased FIL had a business in which he converted VHS content to digital, and I wouldn't mind doing the grunt work on something like that at all for you.
