I really wish I would have known about the topic of this particular episode or I would have emailed you guys screenshots of a complete accident that happened on our land and I just so happen to have had two tourniquets that were bought from you guys in our side by side when it happened. The ambulance showed up and and the EMT's were highly surprised at the fact that we #1 were smart enough to have tourniquets on site, (which i low key took offense to) #2 that we knew how to use them..(also took offense to).. but the MAIN MATTER, #3 that we had QUALITY TOURNIQUETS... And I can promise you right now it probably saved his fkn life! I won't go too far into the accident as to what happened, but trust me it was something that could have happened to ANYBODY, that's why they call them ACCIDENTS! It was not because of unproper use of a firearm or some idiot playing army man in the backyard! It was a pure accident. But my point still stands, the tourniquets that we had came in kits that were bought from TACTICON.. AND THEY WORKED... IMAGINE THAT!!!! btw THIS IS A 100% TRUE STORY AND HAVE PICTURES TO BACK IT UP... Not because everybody pulled their phones out like some idiots do immediately for some reason, we had GoPros running on our side by sides .. SHOOTING HOGS is all I'll leave it at!! But the accident was documented and so were the precautions we took before the ambulance got there. 💪✌️🚫🧢

Respect for their mission and message… to sell cheap overseas made gear and make fun of other companies? These guys are funny, but have no class - or self awareness. Like constantly make fun of Lucas’s legs and how they could beat him up in a fight, but attribute some “don’t be poor” comment to him… when Lucas constantly advises frugality in buying gear (even other companies gear). It’s just Tacticon on the defense to some bad public perception, but they should just own it - they know who they are - they just resell cheap overseas made stuff with funny USA-bro advertising.

Nothing but respect for you two, especially openly saying your cost and margins on the IWB holster. It's been long awaited for a company in the 2A community to mention how tech has caught up to product demand/design so something as simple as a light or plastic holster shouldn't be hundreds of dollars. Also how these giant defense or firearm/defense companies are charging ridiculous prices for firearms/accessories/optics because of "R&D" when they've more than recouped the cost, furthermore have streamlines processes making them more efficient. How much "R&D" can a red dot, holster, or TQ require? Keep it up and God Bless.

I'm a machinist with 16 years experience in my trade. I received a degree in gunsmithing in 2006. I have worked both my small business for 8 years and a full time job at multiple facilities in 3 different states. As an employee in large souless companies manufacturing for names like Lockheed, Baal,Raytheon,Bae ect. You wouldn't believe how much we source material and parts from foreign sources, cut the final operations or finishing on and then repackage with a made in USA sticker on it. Everyone does it these days. It's the only way to stay competitive and keep pricing down. The only difference is how honest a company is about it. The fact these guys are both producing what matters in house and outsourcing from other vetted companies to keep our prices low is commendable. I'm all for American made being in manufacturing myself but the distance between reality and expectation is disappointment. Let's be honest, for those of us on a budget and trying to put our money where it counts ie ammo for training or a better base weapons platform the difference between what Tacticon charges for mag puches vs a company like HSGI is vast. If the quality is there I'm just going to be objective about it. Not knocking anyone- just being strait forward. The insite Jake and the sandalorian offer here on actual cost and sourcing is dead on. As far as ive seen Tacticon is true to their mission statement and are exemplary Americans looking to make the difference more usa companies should be looking to make. As far as I'm concerned Lucas is just another spoiled ameri"cant" looking to capitalize at the peoples expense. He a symptom of the greater problem, not the solution he should be striving to be. His big me little you attitude is phucking disgusting. And there I was living in an mgpts medium on a deck while building a cabin for my family in rebel held Arkansas territory when tacticons shorts popped up. Not only did I get a sorely needed laugh, upon further research I discoverd a genuine USA owned company with a message you can stand behind. Their quality+price is one of a kind in an ocean of souless cookie cutter clones. Thank you guys for your content/products and keep up the good fight!

As a chinese dude I have a family member working in the medical supplies manufacturer industries in southern china, they export supplies to all over the world in huge quantities, I do not have a number to prove but even before covid, most of what they made has been exported, the production actually ramped up after covid hit and when Russia invaded Ukrain, and their biggest customers are still in America and Europe. Came to the states 10 years ago for middle school, I understand and am sure ppl like to buy stuff made in US, but these are just as good than the things made in the states, and I'm sure, much cheaper. I love my Staccato, love my SW and Ruger revolvers, but almost all my medicines and medical stuff are still from china or made in china, and they work just fine.

I appreciate this video. I asked a question of customer service in reference to 2 Tacticon Armament tourniquets that I own vs 1 NAR, 1 Rhino Rescue, and 1 Live The Creed. All 3 from other companies are stamped and marked with the NSN numbers, Tacticon isn't which concerned me because the ones from Tacticon look identical to all the fake ones from Amazon and eBay that lack the marking. Customer service reached out concerning my email and shared this video with me and again I greatly appreciate it. I didn't think honestly that Jake and Hop would intentionally or maliciously sell fake products especially those designed to save life. Great job guys.

China makes iphones and ipads. The notion that they cant make a tourniquet is pretty silly. They will make a product however they're contracted to make it. there isnt anything inherently bad about chinese manufacturing. I prefer to buy American of course but Surefire lights are DEFINITELY over priced. They should cost like $150 at most for a bright potted flashlight. If you go on /r/flashlights there are some real flashlight nerds on there and they point out a lot of legitimate flaws with Surefire, modlight, and Cloud Defense. For one...i think it's the drivers they called it? Anyway, basically theres something in the light that regulates the brightness relative to the charge of the battery and all of the "premium" weapon lights use a very cheap version of that thing. So, what ends up happening is that your light is only at the advertised brightness for like 1 minute and it starts getting dimmer as it runs. There are other lights that arent specifically advertised as weapon lights that don't gate the brightness in that way. The light still dies of course but you get the advertised brightness until the battery dies. Im sorry i don't have the proper verbiage to describe what im talking about but yeah, check out that subreddit cuz those nerds know their shit. Ill probably end up buying one of your lights and testing it out and ill post a video of it when i do it. Lucas Botkin has been caught in the past lying about training swat teams and special forces guys when the truth was that he let them use his range and then manipulated that situation to reinforce his public image when an accurate description of the situation would be "i was training WITH special forces/swat when i let them use my range". Thats a very different statement if you ask me. There have also been allegations of him speeding up footage to make it seem like he shoots faster than he really does. I don't know if thats actually true but there were allegations of that a few years ago. One last thing... people get weird when this gets brought up but the Botkin family are from a group that many people would describe as a cult. It's called Quiverfull and they basically believe in a very particular interpretation of the Christian bible that basically believes that women exist purely to make babies and as such the families of the group are all very large. Botkin is one of the largest ones and the Dugger family (yes the ones from that tv show) is another from the same group. I don't always agree with you guys but you are being honest about the costs of manufacturing these products. I have a sidecar holster and it shouldn't cost what it did but its a nice holster. Lights don't cost much to produce. Holsters definitely don't cost much to produce. Tourniquets don't either. I have worked in machine shops my entire adult life. I know how metal objects are manufactured and how much the raw materials cost. The gun industry is full of hypebeast marketing and outright lies. it gets old and people would rather believe marketing from their favorite companies rather than research how stuff is made and what the relative cost of those methods and materials are. Suppressors are another hilariously overpriced item. Once you're tooled up to manufacture them you basically have a money printing machine.

I really don’t think TRex is some money hungry company that you try to make them out to be. Take their hinge for the sidecar holster. Not only did they not patent it, but they made it open source and desire other manufacturers to utilize it as they wish. They have tons of open source data available. That doesn’t seem like a company that is simply money hungry.

Don't know if whoever responds to the comments will read this, but you guys seem like honest dudes, either that or you're the best snake oil salesmen I've ever seen. So I'm just gonna give it to you straight: I'm just getting into shooting, I have all the parts i need to build my AR, and now i just need an optic (though realistically i want to be proficient with my backup sights so i plan on just training with those for a while). I have a friend who's in the military and using his discount i would be able to get a vortex strike eagle (scope only) for 300 dollars; so around $450 with the mount. Most people aren't so lucky, i know. But my question to you is, at that price point, why would i not get the strike eagle with its proven track record over your guys' $400 FFP lpvo? I get that yours has more features for the price, especially with the constant discounts and whatnot. But what corners are you cutting that lets you sell those extra features for so little? I just want you to tell me honestly, as if i was an actual friend of yours looking to get into shooting. If money wasn't an object, would you really recommend your optics over a company like Vortex? I'm not trying to throw shade, as i said you guys seem like good people who stand behind your products and goals as a company and can respect that. Basically i want to like you guys. But the fact that everything is _so_ cheap and the use of labels like "airsoft gear" from a not-insignificant amount of people online just has me sussed out.

One thing I absolutely hate in the tactical world is the level of snobbery and flexing that goes on. And it usually is under the guise of "you need this thing that costs a ton because your life depends on it." Look, is there cheap garbage out there? Absolutely, when I was a young dumb private in the infantry with no money and no knowledge of what good gear companies were I found this out the hard way. What I will say is you dont need a ton of fancy sh*t to be effective in combat. Issued gear works fine. Gear from companies like tac tailor, vel systems, hsgi, etc even better in some cases. I have run stuff from these companies in training, deployment and currently as a civvie. Good stuff. Stuff cobbled together from what you have on hand can also be super effective (saw a 240 sling made from 550 cord, cardboard for a pad and tape to waterproof it hold up for months until the arms room tossed it). If you can use and abuse the tf out of it and it keeps working f*ckin run it. Will stuff from tacticon work? Hell if I know, I have never bought from them (already set up on gear and kit anyway). All this to say do the best you can with what you have, what you train with and what you can afford. It may save your life, it may cost you your life and it may not matter either way because some dude with a hipoint got the drop on you. Stay in shape and out of debt friends.

The Windlass breaking is not typically how those tourniquets fail it's the nylon weave on the straps giving away and stretching thereby removing tension when you have The Windlass locked in place and you have placed the tourniquet enough or in a proper position with enough pressure to stop bleeding. By understanding is this is why you check a tourniquet occasionally when it's on a patient because you are looking for failures or you're looking for any kind of increase blood flow because of some kind of other circumstance

As a Veteran, I prefer to buy my gear from other Vets. That said, I bought a dozen of these exact tourniquets for my vehicles, tool boxes, range bags, loadout kits, etc., just not from you guys and we did test them just because of the "cheap Chinese junk" stigma. We had the exact outcome that you did. We are fully confident in them. If these are what you have in your kits, I don't see any problem! Especially when it keeps your cost down!

You ask the question of why he said what he said. Could it not be that he is convinced Chinese knock off tourniquets are too big a risk to put out there? Seems reasonable, whether or not he is right.

Ordered some of your holsters, procedsing and shipping around the holidays took a little while longer than normal due to some miscommunication on my part too. But I was very happy with my holsters once they arrived. And "R" in customer service was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks guys!!

I'm glad to have found your channel. Because I will actually be able to put money back without destroying my account, trying to get a product for myself. Keep the pricing where it's at for your company, I definitely appreciate the prices. It's super awesome, this helps in this economy. Thank you so very much on the pricing scale. Because being a OTR Truck Driver, I have to stretch all my money very fin. I live like I'm poor to push myself everyday to not loose a spot in the Trucking Company I drive for, and I am grateful to have found a company. Especially a 2A company that values it's employees, and citizens and does not try to destroy a wallet for gain. Seriously you're guy's products are fucking responsible and I am grateful for that, thank you. And despite what this country is turning into, thank you guys for your service to this beautiful country. It will never go unnoticed.

Vertical integrated supplier vs vendor integrated supplier is what I'm hearing; also for any 'mail order' business the rule of thumb from consultants is to charge 300% of your product cost. If you make or buy a widget for $10, you should charge no less than $30 profit ($40 total) for the widget. Thanks for an interesting podcast, I look forward to listening more in-depth later; just wanted to get a comment in to help feed the algorithm.

I’ve watched Lucas for a long time but to your point, I’ve only bought a sling from them I believe and that’s because, their products do not fit into my budget. To each his own, if you own DD then great, I’m happy that those individuals can afford “high end” products but as for me, I buy PSA and other “value” equipment. But I’d bet my entire check, that if someone was injured and pinned down, that they would not refuse my Chinese made tourniquet or bullets coming from my psa rifle You guys are awesome in your response, much respect to you guys and good luck in your endeavor Edit: trijicon and Eotech (if I’m not mistaken) all have foreign made optic options

BIG FAN OF TACTICON!! Bought a shitload from these guys and it all is top quality. The one thing I bought that had an issue they sent me a replacement immediately no questions asked. Bodkin has never impressed me with gear or tactical advice. I’m ex-military, been a few places, done a few things and I trust Tacticon is a company with people I trust. Bodkin…. Not so much. Keep up the great work guys.

When it happens, we will all be “poor”. We will be standing beside one another with whatever we have left. The people that were ONLY “rich” but had no skill will be stripped of everything of value. Train with whatever you can, adapt and overcome, build relationships with capable people. Become dangerous.

Botkin has his place in the space just as you guys do. I don't like his condescending nature toward others in the 2A space nor do I think he's as influential as HE thinks he is. My opinions and my purchases are made on research and gut instinct and both have led me to purchase from you guys on a regular basis. I own 3 of your plate carriers/plate sets, 3 slings, a battletorch v2, several sets of flip up sights, optics & countless mag pouches and med pouches. I am super happy with each and every purchase. Keep doing what you're doing and screw anyone that disrespects what you're doing.

My whole thing against Botkin is he just comes off as an elitist dbag. We cant all be trust fund kids with our own private range. Do what you can, with what you can until you can upgrade, priorities are based on what you can afford for your family. Hes a good shooter and knows some stuff. But his knowledge is not from experience even in the civilian world. Its all about price point.

On the topic of lights and how they don't need to be expensive in order to work: a KZbin channel called CivDiv had a recent video about how he's used a cheap flashlight ducttaped to his AK in Ukraine and how it worked just fine compared to a $300 weapon light.

I watched that video as I do like watching TREX Arms vids and their stuff and I immediately knew that Lucas was referring to you guys and it left me kinda sour. This is definitely not the time for this kind of shit. GT gets it, as there is no reason not to be nice to each other. Everyone has their own opinions and I can understand that Lucas wants to ensure that we have the very best equipment we can get but, Gucci does not always mean best and its unfortunate that we have been taken advantage of by Big Corp outsourcing but whats a guy to do when he needs another SBA3 Brace because of the 11.5 Colt Upper he bought (and subsequently lost in a boating accident), to avoid 10years and 250K but he cannot afford the extortion fee of $125....instead he buys the S_B_A_3 "Bicycle Grip" off Amazon for $25....Then when he gets it and finds that its actually nicer than the genuine SBA3 that came with his AR Pistol and it fits better... so he thinks to himself "Are they just all made in China?!?" And of course he is still sad as he keeps bringing all his gear onto boats and somehow it all just keeps falling into the lake!?!! My confidence in TA is not shaken. Keep doing what you guys do...this country is in dire need of it.
