I understand not wanting to get a set for 1 or 2 figs but depending on how much they r going for, it may make sense to spend the money on the whole set and just use the parts for mocs. I'm so glad I'm not attempting to get all of the figs but rather just the most accurate version of every character in every outfit which means other than Zam wessle, I don't need any from 2008 or earlier
@2bricks8 ай бұрын
Oh yeah that’s totally the rationale I use for most big sets, but there’s some that I simply couldn’t afford at the time (and likely still can’t due to insane aftermarket prices) what’s a collector to do :(

@@2bricks I'm gonna buy a knock off of Agen Kolar for his hair piece cause it is $85 of the $95 the whole fig cost. I have the rest and cost me $10 so far😜

With all of us showing such an interest here, maybe you ought to list all your duplicate minifigures. I, for one, would buy 1 or 2 (or 3, maybe 4) to support your quest. 😀

Your Minifigure collection is insane! You have so many figures I would love to have. I totally get why you're not going to spend absurd amounts of money on 1 figure like CC Boba Fett. I've been collecting custom figures for quite some time now and I really enjoy them. They can be pricey, thats for sure, but man do they look great. I'm looking forward to seeing you complete the collection!
@2bricks8 ай бұрын
Thanks Daan!! Yeah I enjoy custom figures too, though I don’t have many! There’s just something about seeing the wall of official figs get closer to completion that brings me joy regardless of if I even like the figures lol, some of them have been objectively hideous over the years yet being a part of this huge tapestry of Lego Star Wars history makes them beautiful!

This collection is amazing. I can't wait to see it evolve over time. You're right with 2023 being the 40th anniversary of Return Of The Jedi (it came out in 1983). As for the knock-off minifigures I fully agree with you. Some of the prices for these figures are abhorrent and completely unwarranted. I'd much rather you have a finished collection with a few knock-offs than not have them at all.

Thanks so much!! And yeah I double checked after the video haha 😆

It’s very cool seeing all these figures all neatly lined up. Personally I just try and get every character I want and make custom figures for anything that I can’t get. I can’t justify buying Count Dooku so I made one using a Saruman figure.

are you going to distinguish the non original minifigs? ie place the red block behind them? I'm placing all my knock off minifigs on one shelf and labing as such. this will help my family sell the original figures in a pinch if we ever needed the money

Great display for your collection! For some figs, like UCS x-wing Luke you can pick up the keyring for the printed arms as they are compatible. Only problem is getting your hands on those dual moulded legs... Good luck!

Although I don't want to get every fig, it will be interesting to learn some more history about those older ones. My "dark ages" basically have the whole beginning of lego star wars (1996ish-2020), so I'm sure there's still a lot I don't know. Even though your current stance on the expensive figures, I do hope that one day your channel gives you the means to even get those to get it completely complete (also to be OCD-compliant)

If the channel grows a bit more, might be an idea to do a "help me complete the wall" patreon or something. 😀

How are you dealing with the figs getting dusty?
@2bricks5 ай бұрын
@@zalbercook I just take them down periodically and give them a wipe - usually only once or twice a year, it’s not a huge issue where the fig wall is located in my home doesn’t seem to attract much dust!

Will you make update videos every few weeks? Or every time you add a decent amount of minifigs?
@2bricks8 ай бұрын
I think every month to couple of months probably! Sourcing these things on bricklink takes forever because a lot of times people will just have one figure or one part of one figure and then you have to find another store with the rest of it and shipping takes forever, it’s a whole thing. Moc parts gathering seems to be a lot smoother
@mungogerryjnr6 ай бұрын
I recently went at getting two of the Scarif figures.I already had one.They were all the same cost more or less. Basically they average $50 each,that’s what I could have sourced them for so $100. I challenged myself to get em for $65 in parts included postage. Basically did it but one torso is an issue and I only have $5 of the $65 left so I’m just waiting on the wanted list of Bricklink
@birkobricks5 ай бұрын
I’d disagree with your comments on scalpers, the scenario given of a mum looking to sell things and being taken advantage of isn’t true. If someone agreed to pay what they ask then that’s on them, if the seller doesn’t research stuff that’s not the buyers fault. “Scalpers” as you call them, also provide a service to obtain sets that others don’t
