You mention liking the simplified designs and although these are a bit too simple for my tastes, that's also what I get when I see custom printed minfigs, they're usually far too busy in their design, which makes them pop out as not official lego quickly to me

I was 6 years old when LEGO SW came out. Since I started my collection after the dark years I made it a commit ment to complete the 1999 wave as well as all the yellow head figures. They are absolutely beautiful and the nostalgia is everything

The only 1999 figures I own are Darth Maul from the first Sith Infiltrator, Qui-Gon which I bought from a local Lego seller and farmboy Luke and Obi-Wan from the first Landspeeder. The reason why Obi-Wan's face reminds you of Luke is because they started using that face for Luke from 2000 untill 2003 in yellow and later in Light Nougat from 2006 untill 2010. But the Luke from Cloud City, Luke from Dagobah and Pilot Luke all still used the 1999 face in the early 2000's. You could say that I'm a Lego Star Wars fan haha! Your collection is awesome and I would love to see it completed one day, keep up thw great work!

Yeah! They should at least have continued making chrome parts alongside other options!! It’s a bummer that the chrome would chip over time, but on the other hand….it looks so coooooool

Didn't young obi have his padawan braid printed on his torso? I vividly remember this from those jedi duel sets, but maybe that was in the year 2000

But that’s kinda where my slowdown on the fleet started- I felt like there weren’t a lot of really iconic designs that I have a lot of attachment to that weren’t represented, so I lost a little bit of momentum. Definitely still pushing on though, and my list of ships I’d like to do is still in the dozens, and will only grow as we get cool new stuff like the Acolyte and Skeleton Crew!!!

I bought some of the sets with my saved up pocket money, and got them for Christmas or birthdays, so I guess technically I was “collecting” at that time, but I was like 12 and I also wanted PlayStation games haha. All of my current collection has been re-bought however, since my old stuff is back in England where I grew up.
