@2bricks Given the impressive size of your MOC of the Great Hall, I was hoping that you could get all four houses in. I know they do this on the 75954 2018 set, of which I own. What I think I would do if I built your version, is to split the tables as they did in that set, so you CAN get all four house in. I would put the larger Gryffindor and Slytherin tables upfront where the professor's table is, and have the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables where the entrance is. But make those two tables smaller. Reason being for the uneven layout would be because you would have more known figures in the Gryffindor and Slytherin houses, which would be front and center when viewed from the side. Also the 75954 set has those nice banners. Naturally I would put the stickers on their own banner plate and then somehow hang them in the hall showing all four at the same time. Perhaps hanging two on the front wall, and two on the back on their respective sides where the house tables are located. Granted, this isn't movie accurate, but it is a way to represent all four houses given the scale of your MOC. As it is, with my 2018 set, I hadn't put the stickers for Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw on the back of the banners because I knew I would get two more banners to show all four houses. However, in order to do this on my set, I would have to remove the candles...which I don't really want to do. I have to find a different way to suspend the candles. Anyway, great job on the MOC! I been following your page on your Hogwarts MOC's for a short while now. I mainly am interested in "borrowing" some of your ideas for the Chamber of Secrets as I been very unhappy with the Lego releases thus far.

This is a fantastic build - very structurally sound and looks great. Many very nice details that you featured (small builds etc) and the sky feature was a bonus. It just looks amazing while being "playable". Looking forward to seeing more. (oh yes - I really liked how you did the front entrance with the steps to the courtyard as I have not seen this done well to date, great job)

Would you have any advice on becoming a lego youtuber

I’d say just make what you love, don’t try and chase clicks, upload as regularly as you can and if you have any money to invest, put it towards a few nice lights and a decent microphone because lighting will make your footage look better than badly lit footage with a really expensive camera, and bad sound is pretty off putting to people. Find your own type of thing that you can be passionate, quoting LaLa Land “people are passionate about what other people are passionate about”. That’s about all I can think of right now!

Holy crap why am I just seeing this now? Well, I’m glad I’ve been stocking up on tan, dark bluish grey, brown, and sand green bricks whenever I see them on the PAB wall- and I have bought duplicates of a few HP sets, so hopefully I will be able to use most of those & maybe attempt this- but I gotta say- that is one amazing build.

Yeah I did read that and, if true...its confusing...Like if its a one off celebration of the 20 years of HP stuff set that isnt designed to connect to all the other recent sets then I guess thats fine, but if its another great hall/staircase tower set, but with green roofs and doesnt really fit in anywhere I have a hard time getting the point. I shall reserve judgement until I see something though!

I bought external pieces and used as many elements as I felt I could from existing sets I had purchased - the great hall is such a specific looking building to me I really wanted to do justice to the particulars of it and so I want able to take as much from the official sets as I would have hoped. It looks really great on display though!!

No problem! I love that rebrickable gives you a lot of options for comparing sets inventories and checking prices before you buy so you can have a tough idea of what you’re in for before you commit to purchasing the instructions:)

@@2bricks Yes indeed. I bought your moc, I want to do a slightly different version (a bit closer to the 71043 version, but almost as big as yours). I'm glad I can get some inspiration from your work. Congrats again, very excited to follow your hogwarts construction. My goal is to do all the castle (something like the big extended 71043), in a bigger size so it's not mini scale, and playable. Long adventure ahead :) Keep going, and excited to see the next video !!

This is absolutely incredible! As a massive Harry Potter fan, im really excited to see a Hogwarts Lego build with this level of detail and at the same time achievable. I can’t wait to see the rest of the castle unfold. I just bought your instructons for the great hall and the boathouse 🙌 I just have one question: would you recommend to have the hogwarts castle 71043 set beforehand, to have all the minifigures and a lot of the building bricks? How many of the bricks from the set would you say can be reused for your moc?
