I am sure they have some force behind it, I never had to do with Tucans but our Greyparrot, he is 46 years old now, has bitten my grandma in the cheek a long time ago and that was a real flesh wound. Of course it's something else cause of the much shorter and different shape of the beak. Also I would guess the beak of a parrot is a lot sharper and he has more force, he can crack walnut's open, probably cause Parrots are not strictly herbivores.

@@kinaj6972 Parrot's beaks have far more mechanical leverage.....translates into far more bite force. Toucans cannot break skin by leverage alone...it'll be uncomfortable and maybe bruise but it won't break the skin just by a simple nip. HOWEVER, Toucan's have a serrated beak which is more than capable of tearing the skin. I'll take Toucan nips over Parrot nips any day, though.

I met a Toucan years ago. He was a wonderful bird. I couldn't afford to buy him for $800.00 but we liked each other. I am glad you plan to get him in mint condition.
