It's a bit difficult to appreciate the contrasting qualities unless you are either in the market to purchase a diamond or in the business of buying and selling them. As someone who had purchased an upgraded set for our 30th anniversary I can honestly say a triple E diamond (s) is very impressive in the real world under office and daylight lighting. These videos are incredible helpful if you are just starting out. Only wish I had these resources back in the day when my only criteria was price and sparkle. Thank you for taking the time to publish them.

Absolutely gorgeous and so educational! What I like most of watching your videos is the detail in which you explain what I think is most important, which is how the diamond "performs" in the different lighting scenarios, in addition to its lab certification. This is never discussed by most jewelers selling diamonds. I WILL be seeing you in the next couple of months to find that perfect diamond! Thank you Jonathan!

Thanks for your videos. I've seen a bunch of them and I learned a lot. There are a bunch of videos up claiming that moissonites are superior to diamonds by all means of optics. Could you make a comparison of both gems to talk about this issue? Maybe you can even compare them to a zirkonia. It seems like more and more people ask themselves: "what material should I choose in the first place" before they get down to the specific questions that you cover in your existing videos. Keep up you good work. I appreciate it greatly.

+emanuel karl Greetings and thanks for your comment and question. There's a carbon/silicon gemstone even better than moissanite and that is the new Amora Gem. Moissanite are not cut as nicely nor is their color more similar to diamond than Amora's are. We are in fact releasing our August Vintage Cushions in this new gemstone and I did post a video on it. Simply search on my channel for Amora Gem and you'll find em. ;) In fact ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/iF7Eq51mrt-jm68

+Good Old Gold Nice. That blows anything I could have expected. I watched the Video, and love it. will comment there. Just one remark: I think you made a good decision to get into that. As you mention in that video, you are a diamond guy. There is an old saying: "You cannot stop the wind from blowing, but you can adjust your sails" It's great that you go with time, now that some new gem came up in recent quality. Just to make sure I got you right in this last post above: Amora is a Moissonite, but as a certain brand, it has properties to it, which makes it preferable for the reasons you mention, right?

+emanuel karl More or less. If you read the thread on the other video the inventor of the Amora Gem responds to quite a few questions about it. If you have any questions though I can help and/or direct you to the right resources. :)

The comparison people are going to be making if one's fiancee/spouse is wearing a "super" ideal-cut diamond is one between the diamond they are used to seeing on other ladies' hands - AT BEST a cut of GIA-good - and the diamond "best" cut which their intended is wearing. The incremental increase in quality is interesting to see - and you know your business better than I - however, I think it would be interesting (maybe at the very end) to also see the best cut diamond compared against the GIA good (cut) diamond. That "huge" difference is why I'm paying a premium for the "super" ideal-cut stone. Yes? Regardless, thank you for your very informative videos.

Very good video. I still don't understand why anyone would ever buy a diamond that isn't super ideal cut. Better to have a fake stone than a chaotic leaky dead diamond haha.
@DiamondInfoMan
@DiamondInfoMan 4 жыл бұрын
I agree in that cut quality is extremely important. I rather have a well cut G VS2 compared to a leaky D IF even thought the value of a D IF is higher. That's because I'm all about optical performance. At the same time, there are rare amazing ideal cut diamonds out there that look identical in brilliance when compared to the super ideal one's. So many of our customers choose this option as it offers them the visuals their in search of without paying the super ideal premium. In the end, it comes down to personal preference and we'll happy to offer both options : )

@@DiamondInfoMan will the spots on a big VS2 diamond more visible , say 3 carat?
@DiamondInfoMan
@DiamondInfoMan 4 жыл бұрын
@@kgan4733 That's a good question. Often the larger the diamond, the more noticeable the inclusions are if even if their clarity grade is the same. So for instance, 1ct VS2's are usually eye clean. You'd have a better chance spotting a VS2 in a 3ct diamond. The difference between a 2ct & 3ct diamond isn't as extreme, but the tend remains to a lesser extent in many cases.

Sure, a GIA diamond with those stats should sell for around (47.5k - 48.5k). If interested in making a purchase, feel free to reach out to sales@goodoldgold.com as we should be able to beat anyone's prices when comparing "apples to apples" regarding quality.

@@DiamondInfoMan will the I color show more yellowness in a big diamond like that?
@DiamondInfoMan
@DiamondInfoMan 4 жыл бұрын
@@kgan4733 Color is often more noticeable in larger diamonds that have the same color grade compared to smaller diamonds. The increase in size, generally polarizes most aspects of the diamond. Cut is important as well. From the face-up view, a well cut diamond should look whiter compared to a lesser cut quality diamond of equal color grade. This is because the brilliance in well cut diamonds are so powerful that the diamonds true color tends to hide behind it.

Not really. GIA is good at grading what it does, particularly with regards to clarity & color. When it comes to cut quality it's a matter of understanding the tolerances allowable within their "Excellent' cut grade. On a personal note we will not purchase nor give a two thumbs up to most of them. Only those that we confirm have the rarest optics.

Sure, next time I'm buying diamonds I'll just bring my ASET tool, what would it be called? Imagine going to Jarred, Kay, or Zales, (any of those scammer jewelry stores) where they hardly even know about jewelry let alone what low quality crap that they sell.. They never even have a scale and know nothing of gram weight, what a joke.

Diamonds are a CONTROLLED market. Which means there are PLENTY of them available. But the pretense is, they are rare. Therefore costly. NOT SO. Almost seems like cheating you, doesn't it? YES!
@DiamondInfoMan
@DiamondInfoMan 8 жыл бұрын
Hi Frieda. You are correct in the sense that there are plenty of diamonds on the market. Very true. Rarity however is a completely different issue. Are you under the assumption that the majority of diamonds that come out of the earth are D Flawless on top of being cut to that level of precision and light performance?
