Thank you so much ! I'm a self-taught animator (from France) and I'm starting to be frustrated by my poor skills when it comes to traditional frame-to-frame animation. Your video is absolutely perfect for me. You explain steps, give general thoughts, and describe the physical principles involved in the animation you're looking for. That's really pleasing to finally be able to animate a fire and to UNDERSTAND why my previous attempts were poorly convincing.

Awesome, glad to hear it could help! Animation is hard but worth it, keep working on it and you'll continue to level up, just like in a video game.

@@MicahBuzanANIMATION Lots to learn... I think the biggest challenge for me is maintaining volume in animations. And even showing a simplified workflow. I've done lots of rough animations without finishing them, or attempting finished animations from the get go, almost treating them like moving paintings, vs. layers to be built up. Those are more technical and maybe less fun ideas though. On the fun side, if you don't already have water, smoke, setting up creative shots, like following someone running or a birds eye view with non-dizzying swooping...all would be helpful.
