Its nice to see Tweek do so well. Personally, I dislike Cloud a lot simply because any time I play online and I beat someone *surprise surprise* they pull out Cloud the next game and I get up-aired for days. He's fun to play and an extremely good character, but I hate that people use him as the "omfg you beat me I'll show you!" choice

Chris Fitzgerald Well that last statement is partly true, some people use him as a counter pick after loosing though. Hes not as ridiculous as he seems to be, the main problem is that many people can pick him up and use him easily as he requires less effort to get to average play, but you still need to have some sort of effort to utulise him to win against really good players (close to top level to top level which are extremely rare). I usually side towards link as a counterpick since a lot of people generally quit after I counterpick Cloud, despite them using somebody like Corrin or Bayonetta which I find even less pleasurable than fighting Cloud.

Definitely. The only time I've seen him use Bowser Jr since he dropped him was against Locus at ZeRo Saga, so yeah, it's been awhile. After this tournament, I'm 100% certain he'll pull out DK if his Cloud isn't working.

I hear that the Marth-DK MU isn't very good for Marth and that Cloud is superior in every way in that MU but it's MK Leo. His Marth transcends MUs. I think it's because MK Leo doesn't want to go Super Saiyan unless it's a major. That and maybe to avoid the embarrassment of losing to DK with his best char. 😋 No shame in losing period IMO. Only learning.

I remember I ran into this DK on FG once and I was straight up questioning how in the fuck I kept loosing, seriously ive ran into decent clouds sheiks bayo's and ZSS mains and I did relatively well and I just couldnt see how im having so much trouble with DK outta nowhere. MagiMagi In brawl dk would just get chaingrab then fair to dair spike. I've seen Mr r fight dkwill back in the day. Now on Smash 4 I'd said they're about 55-45 in marth favor. Dk can't recover at all against him but you could argue that DK has easier ways to end stocks.. 🤔 Idk it's a tricky MU but honestly I still think marth has a slight advantage.

The problem with marth is that he struggles to kill DK and with 1 grab DK will probably kill marth. It doesnt help that DK is one of the heaviest character and with DK power to kill marth very early, Marth wont generate enough rage to kill DK reliable at higher percent with his up throw. Making his up throw pretty much useless and DK also has long limbs that can handle marth swords decently. This is similar to bowser as well since bowser has strong jab and f-tilt along with the grab combo. DK does struggle landing and ledge recovery so marth can do well here but as you see in the video, Cloud can do it just as well and even better with his superior up-airs. Only thing marth has over cloud in this match up, is that marth can counter DK or edge guard the recovery but a good DK can mix up his recovery well enough that it should be manageable. If marth goes off stage and fails, he give up stage control and the position is reverse since DK can cover many ledge options against marth as well with his up-tilt or down tilt spam (or read a grab and your dead). Which is why it is just as good of an idea to stay on stage and just N-air DK when he recover from the ledge since he is so fat a N-air cover everything. Once again, if you are just going to stay on ledge to nair and not edge guard then you might as well play Cloud since Cloud N-air cover more options better. Overall, picking Marth would not switch the situation much. Cloud can cover the stage better and marth can edge guard better. It just depends on how you want to play this match up. It is probably 40-60 or 45-55 match up either way.
