Korea goes all out decorating for Christmas ! So beautiful! Great idea replacing the light in the Christmas tree. Sweet tree too! I have one of those vintage ceramics Christmas trees my mom made many years ago. Every year I have to watch One magic Christmas , both the old and new version of Miracle on 34th street, and The Holiday. I watched that one outside of Christmas because I'm learning Norwegian (actually watched it twice - once with Norwegian subs and a second time with English subs because my Norwegian is not good enough yet to watch TV without help). I enjoyed it, but man, I hope it gets a third season at some point because personally, I did not like how season 2 ended at all.

I think almost everyone born in the early to mid-80s will say Home Alone and Home Alone 2. I actually remember watching them in the cinema with my mom, my aunt and my older cousin. They show them on TV on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here so it is a must watch really. Before I forget: I absolutely love your Christmas-y home! Im a Brit so Love Actually is mandatory at Christmas time!! :LOL. Meet Me in Saint Louis IS a great film and I love the old favourites like White Christmas and Its A Wonderful Life too. A Christmas Carol is always a good watch as well and our favourite is the 1980s version with George C Scott. It was filmed in Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, in the UK where I was living at the time. My Daughter's English teacher was an extra!! Fun fact, they made a fake headstone for the cemetery scene which was filmed in one of the large Churches in the town. After filming they left the stone there in the graveyard.

I used to watch a lot of MacGyver when I was a kid. Kyu-gyver to the rescue? Lol. Myeongdong is where we stayed when we visited! I remember those streets! We watch "Christmas Vacation" without fail. And then our usually line up includes "White Christmas", one of the versions of "Christmas Carol" I recommend the 1970 Albert Finney version, it's a musical and so well done. If Christmas doesn't include "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" then I feel robbed! Fred Astair narrates it as the dancing puppet mailman. It is a stop motion movie like "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and "Year without a Santa Claus." All great holiday movies with lots of heart! Enjoy the winter season and Merry almost Christmas!

Hi Sarah!! Hi Kyuho!! I love your lighted Christmas tree! I soooo remember that from my own childhood! I’m so glad that Kyuho was able to grab a light source for it! Thank you both for sharing the beautiful Lotte Christmas lights. Sarah, ALL of your baked goods always come out beautifully! I now want to make those! I just spent the last week making red chile pork tamales-our Christmas tradition. I’ll be making Biscocho’s today. It’s the New Mexico State cookie, made with lard, anise seeds, flour, sugar, orange juice or wine, dipped into cinnamon/sugar. I grew up on those cookies and they’re very nostalgic for me. As far as Christmas movies…..For me, it’s the classic ‘Miracle on 34th Street.’ Has to be the one from 1947 with Natalie Wood. Oh, and the original ‘A Christmas Carol!’ I also love ALL of the Hallmark channel Christmas movies. I just put them on for background noise, while decorating, cooking, or baking. I’ll record the movies that I really want to see. As 2022 comes to a close, I just want to thank you both for everything! It does amuse me how Christmas illuminations in Korea (and also in my new home, Japan) are more extravagant and beautiful than the illuminations back in my home country (the UK)..... lol

@@2hearts1seoul They've slowly gotten better over the years. My favourite European Christmas markets, though, are in Germany, Finland & Austria ❤ And Sapporo does the best European style Christmas market outside of Europe. That's a must visit!

Hey guys 🙂 glad you're feeling christmassy although you had to change travelling plans 🙏 Here are my 3 christmas movie recommendations: 1. Must-see: Ever since I was little I've watched this movie almost every year (except one time while living in Mexico it wasn't available anywhere. Awful christmas 😭😀) Anyway, this one is really funny & SO iconic. I still laugh about certain scenes as if it was the very first time watching it: It's "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation" (1981). I highly recommend it, if you don't know it. Chevy Chase cracks me up everytime!! And I know almost the whole movie lines by heart haha 2. Talking about romantic christmas comedies: "The Holiday" is one of the few ones I love as well, but there is one more I've grown to like over the past 3 years: It's "Last Christmas" (2019) actually. I was afraid it'd be too cheesy since I can only take so much of it 😂 and I knew Emilia Clarke would be singing George Michael's song for sure. But also thanx to the lovely supporting roles like Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh & Emma Thompson it turned out to be quite endearing! Emilia Clarke has quite the bubbly personality in it. I suggest you'd give it a try 🙂 3. Last but not least: A true classic. It's "It's a wonderful life" (Black & White, 1946). If you don't know it yet, be ready to get your heart broken a little. But it has the truest christmas message there can be & I love it so much. Have a lovely Christmas, Sarah, Kyuho & Beemo ❤️
