2J Racing Mid Pipe Install on a 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback

Super easy install, just a few 14mm, and a couple 12mm. She's definitely a lot louder now and packs a deeper punch. I noticed right away a lot more torque and most probably gained a few HP. Thank you guys for watching! If you have any questions about anything make sure to leave them below!

The spacer is there so you wont get a check engine light. If the o2 is in the same pathway with the airflow it will trigger a check engine cause of the increased air flow by raising the o2 it will decrease the amount of air that the o2 detects

If you’re still having that rasp problem you can ask 2j racing for some new bolts that go to the headers. The spring bolts don’t hold it again the headers to well so you will probably always have a small exhaust leak at that point. What I did is I thread locked the bolts they sent and I have no rasp or exhaust leaks anymore!

What i find weird is if that o2 sensor is after the cat why would they provide spacers for the o2 sensor since the car is still running a cat it shouldn't throw a CEL without the spacers i would think and they basically included 2 highflow mini mufflers just to not making drony, really like how it looks and sounds

John Nguyen my only concern is the level of noise. Race headers, high flow cat and their exhaust makes me worried it’s ganna be pretty loud.

Was wondering, I have a 2022 Corolla Se hatch and saw this mid pipe on their site for preorder. Have you been called for emissions yet? And if so did you pass or fail it with this on? Personally I live in maryland so I won’t have somebody look over my car, I can just go to a self service kiosk and hook up a OBD2 cord to my car, and with it changing the cat I was wondering if it screws with the computer or not

If you install the mid pipe you’ll fail because you’re removing a catalytic converter. But it sounds amazing lol so fuck it

Are you still putting higher fuel into your Corolla? Because I know 2j recommends higher fuel with the midpipe to prevent CEL.

Do you use the same 87 gas grade because on the site it says they recommend using 93/91 grade for the midpipe to keep CEL off

I use 87 and haven't had an issue. I may try 91 and see if there is a difference, but so far it runs great. I have the full package, which includes the Header, mid pipe, catback and the CAI, only have the mid pipe and catback installed atm. So 87 is still an option to use if you wanna save on gas money.
