With those prices you do this out of love and keeping the car. It's clean good job. My question is did you need a custom wiring harness made for the body electrical to work correctly like the cluster and body equipment, I Know a lot of these builds require a custom wire harness for that.

You can make the stock harness work but I hate wiring so I had a custom harness made. Everything worked except the speedo. Could have did some minor wiring to get it to work but like I said... I hate wiring haha.

@@ChrisErvin I can't blame you. Been working in a shop for 15 years and wiring and wiring issues are my Nemesis. I'm now a service writer and wiring issues are still my least favorite. But good to know, I been looking for another Lexus either is300, or gs300 or sc300 and an SC came up I may be able to get my hands on I'm a little weary cuz he says it either needs a cat or spark plugs cuz he's not sure if it's a plugged cat or a misfire and misfires also worry me.

Hey how did you get your speed and rpm to work ?

Nice build! What made you decide to keep the stock bell housing on the CD009? A lot of companies sell an adapter that lets you use the auto bell housing.

Do you still have the Sc? And does the 2jz gte fit pretty well into the chassis or do you need new mounting brackets?
@ChrisErvin3 жыл бұрын
No I sold it about 2 years ago. GTE fits perfect. You can event use the stock GE mounts, that's what I did.
@kodab9283 жыл бұрын
Oh ok wow hopefully you got some decent cash from it man, I just bought a 93 sc300 blow head gasket for 600 gonna be doing my own 2j swap soon hopefully when I find a motor. Thanks for the reply man you definitely inspired me🙏👌.

Had to downvote the Roads Untraveled video on your car when the host said it was not a good looking car. Straight up looked you up instead. This is one of the cleanest SC builds out there.

Great build. The rattling from the camera is a bit much. It’s distracting.

Whered you get a gte for 1500?

Haha. That was that average price when I bought it. Prices have have gone up since then

@@Ki777UMiNATii You do realize that LS engines don't bolt right in to an SC300 chassis right? And who said anything about having to rebuild a GTE swap? Generally no rebuild is needed with a low mileage engine like majority of the JDM engines are.
@Ki777UMiNATii5 жыл бұрын
@@mr2foryou you do realize that oil prices are ridiculously high in Japan preventing regular maintenance frequently causing lapses and most are high miles neglected and caked with burnt oil to the point of concern.. you also realize that 2jzs dont direct swap into most chassis hence the need for custom modified mounts or adapter brackets before the need to adapt the tranny and modify the tunnel for proper selector alignment along with the custom drive shaft and a slew of other modifications needed such as canbus translators to keep the usage of the factory cluster..so on n so forth..your point evades me.. I can literally buy an LS for 300$ or a coyote for 3k.. none of which are direct bolt in with any of my multiple projects...

Do you have plans to upgrade the rear end?

is it difficult to change the trans to manual

Jose Saldana not really. Depends on what trans you decide to go with.

so you swapped a GTE in as opposed to just adding a turbo to the original 2JZ-GE? I'm trying to do research but information is so inconsistent everywhere
@ChrisErvin6 жыл бұрын
Both are good options. GTE has stronger rods. I swapped because my stock motor was blown. If your stock motor is healthy it's definitely cheaper to boost the stock motor

@@ChrisErvin awesome, thank you so much for the info I'm subbed now, keep on putting out the videos and I'm sure you'll get a lot more
