Just an FYI, The block threads are supposed to be installed dry, only molylube on the nut side.

Hand tight only the studs, really? What about the studs washers, does I need to apply the lubicant on both sides of the washers?

That is correct, you want to make sure you chase the threads first to get all the gunk out. The point is that it should seat all the way down without you having to physically torque it down.

@@TripasGarage could you please measure the width of the socket with a vernier. I know some sockets don’t fit and the socket you used looks to be about as wide as you could possibly fit in there. It’s 1/2 inch drive yeah?

@@TripasGarage the original gasket of the gte or some oversize to lower the compression of the 2jzge non vvti? I am putting together a non vvti and want to lower the compression ratio with a thicker gasket.

@@rubbyromero5808 this is the factory oem GTE head gasket which is thicker than the factory oem GE head gasket. Using a thicker gasket will lower your compression ratio, not raise it. If you want to raise it then use a thinner HG like the GE one or if you want to use the GTE one then different pistons. Getting the block/head decked will also raise your compression ratio, just slightly though
