My first car I ever built had 420 hp, after we punched the Lil 302ci out to 331ci, 420hp is really fun in a foxbody. I've got a 2jz in the garage, I'm planning on building it for my xj, but I want it to have that low end grunt, I've been thinking of supercharger and big turbo combo on the 2j for the jeep. Then I'll have the first 2j-Xj,, we'll the first I've seen anyway. I'll when make my own cool looking window stickers that say 2j-Xj.

Great content mate! I just scored an Artisto 147S 2JGTE with single turbo set-up. Also just picked up a 2JZ GE from an IS300 with a blown head gasket for $300. So I guess to do the turbo conversion on the GE I can use the cam reference measurement (not measurements) as it's a single turbo from The Aristo? If I wanted to go the cheaper route with stock twins I would need to find a 2JZ GTE that had not been converted to single turbo for the cam positioning measurements? Cheers

Honest question, if anyone can answer feel free but why not get the block machined while it's out wouldn't that up the reliability of the whole thing?
@supravworld87772 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely. And I am taking a risk with the block surface by not machining it. If anyone is using a 7MGE or 7MGTE then You must surface the block and head or it will not seal properly. The 2JZ is much more forgiving. My head was surfaced but not the block.

Might affect budget but why not run ge vvti head with aristo ECU and loom as it already has the cam sensors. Then you don't need to buy the cams or sensors.
@supravworld87774 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, unfortunately the vvti GE head only has one cam sensor and won’t work with the sequential system on a GTE ECU. You can use a vvti head but you will still need to weld in another cam sensor.

Unfortunately not, I wish it were that easy. The Golby’s parts trigger system is an amazing product but can’t be used with the stock ECU. It will only work on a programmable stand-alone ECU. The stock ECU requires TWO cam sensors in the exact spot as the GTE.

No need oil pistons on 2GE and no need to drill block. You just take 2GE VVTI block, forged pistons + forged rodes. Take 1GTE top block, make intake and outtake porting and you are ready to go. Its more cheaper to merge 2GE and 1GTE (1.5JZ), than if you buy 2GTE and will start to build from it. On 1.5JZ with porting you can easily get 600-650hp with taiwan kinugawa turbo. 1JZGE, 2JZGE, 1JZGTE, 2JZGTE have no differences in bottom block! Only oil channels on GTE for stock pistons.
