Good looking Bull. I grew up on 600 acre irrigated farm in Washington State. Dad ran 200 head of Black Angus cows and always had three registered Bulls. Brought back many memories. I'm 69 years old and retired in upstate Ny now and live with my oldest son due to medical reasons. Your videos make my day. Keep them up. The auction scene brought back memories from 55 years ago. Thanks

Just curious why you put the safety anchors in facing the front. To me I always put them facing the rear as that little retainer pin will not keep it from possibly pulling out. If the safety chains are long enough you may try putting them in front of the ball. I know likely hood of having the trailer come loose are minimal if you hook up, lock it, and check it, however strange things do happen.

Do you ever have any problems with predators getting your calves? My uncle runs a cow calf operation and will go through stretches when he loses calves to mountain lions.
@berttucker28854 жыл бұрын
has the grass started growing yet in your area. when you have that first new grass it can cause grass tetany. it doesnt take much to have it happen and when they get it it doesnt take long to lose an animal. least out here in north oregon coast we have to watch out for that. something to look into anyways.

Is grass tetney /magnesium deficiency the problem with loosing cows? I know we get problems here in high k pastures. Give them magnesium licks if so, and be careful with fields/paddocks that have had lots of manure on them
@markarmitage74114 жыл бұрын
@Dean manure and slurry are high in k, (potassium) we have what we call "pet fields" here. Ie beside the yard that usually get manure first because it's easy. They are usually very high in k. It's best to spread it around and return it to fields that have high offtakes
@lukestrawwalker4 жыл бұрын
@Dean Probly haying or cropping because the nutrients are being physically removed from the field in the product. Grazing animals usually return at least 98% of the minerals in the grass they graze to the land their grazing via urine and feces... Later! OL J R :)

Hello Ryan, how are you today. The video was great. I'm a rancher myself in southwest Colorado. I run about 3,000 mother cows. I have a question for you, do you vaccine your cows and bulls with like a in force 3 or 8 way. Because we had that happen to us but then we vaccine the cows and it clear up the pneumonia within the herd.

Yeah... don't take too many dead calves or tore up cows or vet bills to knock out ANY advantage of calf rate-of-gains of the higher birthweight survivors... I have 2 herds 100 miles apart and that's my #1 concern... Still, everybody manages their cattle differently and have different goals... if you're there and can check on them every day and be ready to go pull a calf at a moment's notice, might not be much of an issue for you... Later! OL J R :)
