Wholeheartedly agree!!! Miracles happen every single day but some of us miss them because we don’t have our eyes open and think we control everything…we just need a grateful heart and recognize how truly blessed we are. Love is the answer.🥰❤️🇨🇦
@narsakucanada1542 жыл бұрын
@@leannekenyoung It's true, I've had them happen even before I found God when I was a child, and later on a teenager but didn't realize how or what they were. For example~ I remember when I was around 8 years old I saw my first shooting star and my mother told me to make a wish, so I made one for my half brother, "Who never gamed with me, never gave me gifts, barely knew me, etc", to give me two NES videogames, Mega Man 2 and Jackle. The car with me and my older sister went on our way, and when we got home, he randomly had picked them up in Regina, Sk, Canada that night and thought I'd like them. We were all blown away. ~ I don't know if these events are pre destined or God works on the fly, but I look back half a lifetime later and smile. Anyways, love you and God bless.

Kevin and Sarah please know that neither one of you owes anyone an apology concerning how you take care of any of your animals. You have shown from the beginning how well you take care of your birds, rabbits, pigs and cows and the compassion you have shown when there has been problems with them. Also, there is no way everything you do in any given day can be shown in one short video. P.S.- I just finished your video. We are a 3rd generation, 350 acre working farm and good stewards of our land and animals. Our farm is bisected by a busy secondary highway, so everyone sees how the animals are tended to. We even had an off duty State Trooper pull his car off the road one day. We had a difficult calving in the field and he rushed in to help! I have been in farming for 50+ years and have followed your channel, with interest for years. Kevin & Sarah, you are excellent stewards of your land and animals as well. You work diligently to learn the best ways to approach any new project and treat your animals with respect. We especially know first hand the cost of getting a large animal vet to minister to our livestock. It is costly, but we make sure it is done. So do you. The money you made at auction is what we are currently getting for our calves. Around $800.00.That is a good price. For us it depends if the animal has good breeding probabilities or is being raised for meat. We have one customer who requires a certain pattern of markings surround the eyes. The size of the heifers can also be critical, depending on the size of the bull. Otherwise the birthing can be difficult.
@jamjar57162 жыл бұрын
How interesting about the markings around the eyes.
@nellcovington40012 жыл бұрын
I was surprised that the amount Sarah and Kevin got wasn't higher and was thinking that having to call a vet out would really cut into their profits. So glad they didn't have to call a vet this time and hopefully it will remain that way for them. Thanks for the interesting info you gave. I'm just a city gal but enjoy watching the homesteaders and learning how they live and work.
@dianehall53452 жыл бұрын
JamJar- yes, some customers want calves with sort of a bull's eye brown circle around their eyes. I guess it has something to do with old traditions.
@dianehall53452 жыл бұрын
Nell Covington- The market in general drives the price of beef, even when our customers buy direct from us. They are well aware what the current market value is. There is also registered stock to consider. The breeding is easier to trace as to what you are getting to improve the blood lines of your herd. Nell, I was raised in Manchester, largest city in New Hampshre, but my mother's side came from a long line of VT and NH farmers. It was her mother who taught me farming and the old ways, along with her brother. He owned a poultry farm and lived the good life, WALTON'S STYLE - 1935). Spent summers on the farm. Now I live the best of both worlds. I would not want to give up my Kitchen Aid food processor, stand mixer or my All American pressure canner! But I do have a kitchen wood stove '-) Diane

Thank you for the transparency and candor about "finances." It is seldom discussed on YT vids and the information is really valuable to folks considering homesteading. A couple of "mom and pop" butchers/processors are buying right off the homesteads in our area and paying at least as much as the sale barn. Usually eight to 10 cents more per pound than last week's sale price. They often do the loading and hauling. They then sell "grass fed beef" to folks in the surrounding towns, like hot cakes. A good deal for all concerned.

Thank you for this. We are not currently raising any animals, looking for property to move and raise animals. We are learning a lot from you both and love how caring and kind you are to all.

I love how you share the cost and profit of things along the way. Please overlook the negative comments. Some people just look for something to complain about. You guys are a constant source of lessons and information. I don’t know how many of your videos I’ve saved to go back to as I need them.

Don't let a few "loud voices" make you feel that you have to explain yourselves. The majority knows how good you are with your animals and land. I have learned so much from you and, although, I don't know if I will ever be able to own a farm, I can still put into practice some things and just love your videos. Thank you for being here!! ♥

I'm a long time viewer too. I also love watching them adding the rancher to their repretar (? I know I butchered that!! :) ) I think they fall into that rare farmer/rancher slot. They still farm like before. They still grow enough plants to sell and grow most of their same stuff just mostly in their high tunnels. They have always had a good amount of different farm animals, they just switched up a couple different animals for other animals. All of us farmer/ranchers have done this. We just find one kind works better for us than another and we also find we can't do it all so we have to make hard decisions that the farmer/rancher has to make.

Oh Sarah! You have come so far! I remember when y’all got your first milk cow Hope and how you had never been around large animals. Now you’re herding cattle! Y’all are doing a great job!

Anyone that knows you knows how hard you work. You can’t show everything on camera or you would never get done with your work. Congratulations on selling those calves!

The truth is that you are KZbin stars! You have earned that by sharing your journey with us and being warm and honest about your experiences.

You 2 are the furthest thing from trying to be "YT stars"! From the start of watching your videos, I've always been impressed with how much you both want to share great information on homesteading and all that pertains to it. From building structures for your chickens and livestock, to thoroughly explaining how to build those structures (from coops to fencing, etc.), and I love that you share the mistakes you've made and the tips for saving time and energy that you've learned from experience. Those details of information are wonderful. You both really want to help people who are interested and wanting to try homesteading, from beginners to established homesteader's. You never act like you know it all. You've shown when you have made mistakes, and how you've rectified those mistakes. Always in a humble way.

Kevin and Sarah just so they know! Because anyone who has followed your channel for the last few years would already know that such a comment that accused either of you of not being good stewards in any aspect of the functions on your farm would probably without a doubt know that the comments were intended as a dig with who ever making the comments trying to get under your skin. I'm sure that it's not easy to ignore such comments. Although it is my hope that you continue to be the amazing people that you have always been ever since you began the homestead KZbin journey. I for one have been totally impressed with your business management homesteading skills and information sharing. Thank you ❣️
