I had a feeling KZbin wouldn't like the clip of Nightwish singing Ghost Love Score but I had to take a chance XD I didn't feel like rendering out and reuploading the entire video just for a very brief section so I chose to mute it and link to the video itself. Also it gave me an excuse to try out KZbin's built in editors and mute function! Of course the editor is not working great for me today with my internet, so I'll just take that as a sign and leave the video as is.

I originaly came bc of High Guardian spice, but i am blown away by your content quality. Like the amount of detail & care is absolutely impressive. It's also cool bc there are ppl who are Ace that do like slice of life stories & even Romance stories, it is cool to have a content creater who has simiular intrest as me. I am Subscribing! 😀

Aw thank you so much! That means a lot to me. I am a tiny bit worried that after HGS the views will trickle out 😭 So that makes me happy to hear. Also hell yeah! Slice of life is some of my favourite stuff! Romance I'm extremely picky about. but there are romance stories that hit me the right way :D

This was a great session. I'm a bit used to bookshelf videos very briefly going through book contents but you talk about a ton of things, enough to peak my curiosity on some of them. Also, you have traveled a lot and have books in a lot of languages.... that's amazing. There's a positive about High Guardian Spice though: The algorythm really likes it for some reason so I'm probably far from the only person that discovered your channel through their recommendation on my feed, and from there the rest of your content is 100% worth staying for, I ate that content in like a week and can't even re-watch to keep it as background noise while I work on something because I end up putting attention and sitting through them again xD

Thank you, Sleepy! Hopegully I can still hold people's attention when I am done with HGS. I am a little nervous about that, but not much I can do but keep making things and try to keep the ball rolling. There might be a dip in views but I'll keep making videos around animation stuff. I have traveled quite a bit, but I've had to stay home the past 6 or so years both due to the pandemic as well as personal reasons. 😭I am hoping for some life changes that will have me be able to travel again. I want to go to Wacken in Germany really badly at some point.

@@c-puff The channel is growing steadily... in fact not to sound pessimistic but the 2k subs video came sooner than I thought it'd come (which is great).... it'll be fine. For the Wacken bit, are you hoping for a band(s) in specific or are you planning on it as soon as life lets you go?

I have the same experience as Sleepy0173 though I found yours through a recommendation from Guardian HQ, and I did get caught from HGS but I stayed and subscribe for your other videos, they're just really good.

A very nice collection, I like hearing about what other people have as it inspires me to boost my own. The books on lost treasures and weird victorian newspapers I'm absolutely getting, in no small part because they sound like the kind of books I could use to spice up a DnD quest. For when I eventually DM a capaign (some day). Same with Bono and Cucumber Quest that I heard many people praising but never got around to read them. And thank you for being yet another person who reminds me that I do have Pratchett's books but I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Say, you seem to enjoy Mass Effect a lot. You mentioned Garrus and I saw some ME books and even a hat. Have you considered making a video on the trilogy? I'd like to hear the opinion of someone with a more robust background on literature.

Your collection looks awesome! That bone comic looks especially interesting, I’ll have to look into it If you don’t mind a suggestion, I’d recommend taking a look at the rainbow brite 2018 (I think) reboot comic, it’s even more magical girl than the OG show, and it makes the characters a lot more interesting. I’m still upset it only got 1 volume, maybe they’ll make an animated series one day…

In regards to Archeologists and Museums, I’ll be honest I feel like somebody had to say it. I’m all for calling out wrongdoings of others when it’s warranted but in this case it’s not. I feel as though there’s a willful misunderstanding of motivations, like because these discoveries happened back during the age of imperialism that it MUST have been for selfish or malicious reasons. Admittedly part of my shared frustration comes from a personal bias of mine; I’m on the Autism Spectrum so people misunderstanding what I say or do does bother me a lot, but nothing bothers me more than when someone lies or willfully misunderstands my intent. Animal Facts & Frauds sounds interesting as hell, could probably use that as inspiration for some wacky creature designs of my own. Already had a couple in the works but I’ve been meaning to make more. Like the Possaroo, a combination of a Possum and a Kangaroo since they’re both marsupials (IDK if anyone already made that ^^; ), still need to make that just gotta renew my Maya Subscription and I can make it and all the other hundreds of stuff the Chaos Goblin in my head chucks around in there. :)

I think that's why it bothers me too. I understand not everyone is maliciously doing it because they just want to be outraged and look progressive for it, but I think a lot of people are conditioned to believe people when they say they have been discriminated against, so that when they hear other white people say "this is clearly colonialism" they believe them because it SOUNDS correct. But they don't fact check because you can't fact check everything you hear all day every day. But that's also why I wanted to mention this I think. Because I felt SOMEBODY had to 😂And I don't think people realise that the countries of origin (like Iraq) might have reasons for wanting to keep the artifacts out of country in safe keeping. I need to look up what the British Museum's relationship with the Egyptian Museums is at the moment. But I know Egypt opened their biggest Museum dedicated to Ancient Egypt 2 years ago which now houses most of their Pharaohs. (there was a parade and everything). So I imagine they and the British Museum have a relationship these days.

First! Wait, Tumblr still exists? Edit: Josh Kirby illustrated Tunnels and Trolls, which came out right after Dungeons and Dragons (hence the name), so you are spot on with that 70s reference. His humorous style really meshed well with the not-so-serious rules system.

what despair doctor said, yeah. It's a LOT better these days because all the super super annoying people that gave tumblr its reputation went to twitter where they all cancel each other. Tumblr is now a place where the inmates are running the asylum. It's great! No algorithm (at all), no verified accounts, no public display of someone's follower count. They recently implemented a "free of ads" feature which is honestly more of a "support tumblr because this site needs to start making a profit" feature. I hope the site continues to exist. I can't see myself going to twitter. You can only retweet something ONCE??? Barbaric.

@@c-puff I have found a lot of Belgian comics in SA. Specifically, Readers Warehouse. You'll find the Belgian stuff under the Graphic Novels/Manga section on their website, and they have the classics like Valerian and Yoko Tsuno* as well as more recent stuff. Seriously, a rabbit hole and they have good discounts. *From the 60s but being European, the Japanese-Belgian MG was well researched and three dimensional.
