This may be the ONLY video on doing this in a 4WD. Thank you, sir. You've saved alot of people from alcoholism with this video.

Good video. Yes it is very tight in there! One point you might have missed after removing the B+ cable from the starter is also removing the negative push-on clip to the starter. That was a bear! Thank you for your efforts~

Helpful but. . . I have everything disconnected, bolts out, but can't for the life of me get the starter out. I just can't seem to get it oriented in any way that it will fit out through the wheel well.

how did you diagnosed the starter
@theotherguy30836 ай бұрын
@Ru_90 the way I have always done it. If there is a tick sound from the starter and it doesn't want to start, hit the solenoid with a wooden broom handle. After hitting it, if it starts, the starter is not good anymore.

@theotherguy3083 ive only been a toyota tech for 22yrs. The 22r and 3.0v6 were both junk. One had timing chain issues and the other blew head gaskets. The 3.0 was decent after you put the redesigned head gskts on it but its still an overcomplicated junk design compared to the tacoma engines. But if you like no power, 10000 vaccum hoses and major repairs every 100k mi then go for it.
