love your show and projects. im finishing up my 6.7 dodge 4x4 now. installing my front airbag parts that I fabricated, something like the kit you did on yours, with a 10 inch lift, 38s on22s

Did this install 2 years ago. The hangers/Brackets on the frame are a little weak. Running compounds on a 5.9 12 valve and my pinion angle got quite excessive. Adjusted and took for another ride all ok until I literally twisted the hangers. Just made my own out of 1/2" flat plate, good design though.

Had a failure in my design. Figured Id see what happened if i put airbags on top of the coils and use shorter coils. not enough stability out of the bag to keep the coil straight up and down . so i made a spacer make up the difference in Heights from the giant coils. Had it all done and was grinding at night and hit the line on my fox shocks.. just now got the line replaced .. when I have more time I'm going to go ahead and take the coils out completely on the front play some with the bags I need bigger bags like the diameter of the ones you have on back but taller and I'm probably going to have to make a bigger spacer .I used an old cut torch fuel tank ,it worked out pretty good . Do you have an idea to where to get the tallest bags I can get ? my truck has a 12 inch lift so I'll make up the difference in the spacer mount the bags on the bottom like they're supposed to be

Hey can someone explain why on trucks have a similar style 4 link or long arm setup for aftermarket and custom builds. But on a jeep or off-road vehicles the 2nd set of arms are placed elsewhere such as the top of the diff. More strength vs more articulation? Thanks.

Just curious how it rides with the axle brackets for the 4 link being at the front of the axle? Never seen anyone put them in the front of the axle, just wondering.

only 8th inch on the frame? I wonder how thick the metal is on the front of the frame of my 2008 2500 .... I'm getting ready to weld on my coil buckets that my airbags and shocks and all that s*** mount to but I've been thinking I should probably get some plate to wrap my frame when I'm welding the buckets on to .. would you suggest that ? if so should I completely go all the way around the frame with plate before I weld the buckets onto the frame ? there's a lot of stress on that front end with the 38s.. it snapped my steering shaft like as if it was made out of wood so I just installed the redhead ultimate Duty steering pump and I'm getting ready to put on the brace that braces the steering pump .. the f****** guy sold me the wrong one so I'm having to modify it so it will line up right ... nothing's ever easy and nothing works like it's supposed to you know ...
@j_moffitt
@j_moffitt 3 жыл бұрын
I would add some sort of stiffener if you’re welding on new parts, I failed to do so on one project and it’s going to have to be corrected. The 1/8 material has too much defection in it and over time welds start to crack. Hence why you try to span the load over a greater surface wirh thicker material.

@@j_moffitt Thanks for getting back to me. haddent thought so much about that but just seems like it needs to be beefed up especially with how heavy duty I made the new buckets. i think im going to pick up some heavyflat stock and wrapthe frame before I Weld on the new buckets. I put on the RedHead ultra duty pump and the pump brace goes on today..all a sudden my generator wont push enough amps to my welder so delays as usual...
@billyjones9045
@billyjones9045 2 жыл бұрын
I cut the buckets off of my parts truck then beefed them up and welded the hell out of everything and braced it all up once it was all in place. i took your advice and spanned the load out as much as I could. Drove it once with the bags on the springs and it was perty good..Seems like I got eveything lined up and welded in solid

Aaaaaaaa shyte!!...that was sick. Got the world wheels turning in my head now thinking Bottle Gas thinking 4 Link and airbags airbags on the front. My Gen 2 3500 4 wheel drive dually got T-boned by some bonehead. But they're going to pay me for it I had insurance but now I'm thinking back outside the box again. I build Picture Cars and stunt cars and sheet like that. When I'm not at work I'm at home with my mind running and my welder is cracking. Seriously love the video dude right on thanks I got to get that f****** kit man.. I've been thinking about that set up for a long time. I think you gave me what I needed to actually realize that It can happen and will

@@j_moffitt yeah,thanks...been watching all the steps you take there cuz that's exactly what I want to do if I ever get my money from this freaking insurance company. The killing me man they're killing me. I always wondered why you could buy front airbags for Dodge 3500 but not for four wheel drives. By the way where did you get those bags or what are they for originally? If you wouldn't mind I'd like to get some

Bags I got from sdtrucksprings.com and i don’t know what they are originally for, I just got them based on dimensions I wanted and they work good for my application, but for you it may change depending on the setup you want to achieve

the longer the bars the better, its not so much about how long as to how and where they are mounted, don't want anything too steep of an angle
