This ride is sick! I have a 2nd Gen in Red. I'm done with the sound-proofing in the cabin. Next, I'm doing all the lighting, interior and exteriors. I'm definitely following Mike's Road map. Way better than buying a new Taco and being stuck with the monthly payments for 5/6 years. This way I can go my own pace.

Awesome lookin truck, I have a black 2012 TRD sport 4x4 double cab in manual with some tasteful mods including the alpharex luxx headlights currently the DRL are the standard blue that comes with, but wanting to switch them to Amber, looks really good with the black of the truck, and he was the reason I bought auto up and down for all windows, never thought I'd need them, but once I installed them I fell in love with the switches. 😎

Overall the power train was the best one out of all the gens, which is why people love it so much

While the 2012-15 only have a 5speed, they have a 4.0 V6 whereas the 2016-2023 Tacomas have a 3.5 with a 6speed, which is still powerful but doesn't carry all that low-end torque that the 4.0 does. Yes 2016-23 Tacomas have all the nicer interior but I can tell you from owning a 2014 that the 4.0 is so quick in the low range that it feels like I'm in a V8. 😈😈😈
