The rear stock OR shocks are NOT 4600’s. They are different

They are straight garbage lol. The sport suspension is way better. The off road suspension is absolutely terrible. 😅 the off road 4 runner is also awful.

Awesome! Since you have a stock bumper I’d stick with the Bilstein springs that come with the 6112s. No need to go heavier spring rate. 🙌

Did the same suspension upgrade on my 2021 TRD offroad in Army green. In the rear I used the ICON AAL with Bilstein 5100. Still very very happy with the setup.

Roadhouse. I liked the German measuring unit on the Japanese truck as well! Awesome video, and really worth the wait so you can talk about what works, and what did not. It’s easy to get lost in advice-sometimes ya just gotta learn for yourself. I have those shocks on my 4runner (Bilstein springs front and back). The ride is so nice. Agree about bump stops-anything beats oem.

Installing my leaf springs was a SOB. I couldnt line up the holes until I realized I should losen the U bolts on the other side which allows the axel to move. Lined up immediately after that.

Those bilstein 6112s don't come alive until you really push them. So when you get to a point where you think thats it you push them even harder and the ride changes. It actually takes a lot thought, i wish they softened up sooner. I have to be flying to really feel them get confortable. I would also strongly suggest you get the 5160s with the 6112s. Amazing setup for the money

Hey Jason, how does this 6112/5100 combo is compared to your eibach on the 4runner in terms comfort and handling?
@JasonExplainsThings3 ай бұрын
Very similar. The 6112s are a bit firmer. I’m happy with both. Hard to know small differences because the 4Runner is just a better riding vehicle in general.
@J.Young8082 ай бұрын
I would use a U-bolt flip kit to gain some extra inches and not bugger up the U-bolt threads should rocks be hit.

Does this work on a RWD? don’t really go off-roading just want a better suspension

If that’s the case I would do Bilstein 5100’s all around and don’t worry about lifting it much.

Hitting with a hammer to remove ball joints/tie rod ends, get a bigger hammer 3-5lb, steel, not brass, and hit like you mean it.

Hey Jason, so do you prefer the Bilstein 6112/5100 or the Eibach shocks that are on the 4runner?
@JasonExplainsThings3 ай бұрын
Both are great and have their own benefits. The easy adjustability of the Eibach front coilovers is a plus. Bilstein 5100's and the Eibach 2.0's are very similar. The 6112's are slightly firmer. The 4Runner is just a better handling and riding vehicle in general... so it's hard to say which is best for sure. I like both. One negative is the Eibach Pro Truck kit comes with lift blocks instead of rear springs... so if you use that I'd suggest finding leaf springs somewhere else and not using the blocks.

What are your wheel and tire sizes? Do they rub?
@JasonExplainsThings3 ай бұрын
265/70/17 for now. Eventually 255/80/17 or 285/70/17.
@J.Young8082 ай бұрын
@@JasonExplainsThingsgo with the 255/80R17 they are a better all around tire unless you go sand wheeling a lot. The smaller contact patch has more traction. I’m looking to put 255/85R16 on my ‘23 TRD OR so I don’t have to lift and won’t rub as much as 285’s, and can use my stock rims though I am looking at Volk TE37T’s in a 0 or -10 offset.
@OhWhatATacoАй бұрын
Rear 1 inch lift blocks aren’t worth it?
@JasonExplainsThingsАй бұрын
I wouldn’t recommend it. They make the ride noticeably worse. They can be used as a stopgap if you need to save for leaf springs. But yeah they make the vehicle worse than stock.
