game 2 player had god blocks on. they were crushing it with knowing 1) what to block, then then 2) getting the block on that hex. just keep grinding, you got this!

Tough luck, you'll bounce back! Fwiw momentum feels super important, I would stop playing for the day after a 1 or 2 losses and conversely, don't end too soon when you're feeling hot, like on the day you recorded your previous 1v1.

Just a thought. Since you only had the one wheat tile that first game maybe port your ore for a wheat? Also at 6:20 he's holding a ton of wood. If you play an aggressive knight there's a chance you steal wood or wheat and can city. Either way amazing run to the top. I'm rooting for you.

They need change ratings if your 58 win rate or higher u can be on top with games played. 800 games with that win rate u up there. Wan them make it better

Actually, the opposite is a problem with ELO Ranking. The 58 percent win rate with a lot of games will be played against opponents with higher score, if the ELO score matches that of a player with a higher win rate. Each win is worth more ELO points, if won against a better player.

@@spoookyspencer while I agree with you in general, I refer to the section "Game activity versus protecting one's rating" under "Practical Issues" on Wikipedia. I was only highlighting that more games produce a more meaningful ELO rating vs less games with a higher win rate, in contrast to what OP said.
