It's amazing how much they've grown as singers. Mitch is noticeably a much stronger singer now.

Justin Blatt I think she gets a little extra scrutiny because she is the only girl and happens to have only the second highest vocal range :D. It's just great to see that they most likely haven't peaked yet.

averyaugust I think it's true that we take certain things for granted. Everything that Mitch does is shown off more because his upper range amplifies what he sings. Then, Scott takes the lead of the lot of the time and he's also the most resilient. But after Pentatonix became their own band, she gained her own traits.

averyaugust actually kirstie has the highest if you look at some of their videos where their just fooling around, kirstie hits higher notes than mitch can, but I love them both so much.

Hannah Roman Apart from the whistle range segments, Mitch is a stronger upper soprano. Listen to their rendition of Aha and then look for a comparison.

That white dude judge is pretty cool. He's not just padding their confidence because they gave a good performance, he's giving a real critique and I think what he said in this video was a major influence on their current sound. All their stuff now really plays up the dub step, techno, the trippy things they can do with their voices.

Am I the only one who actually liked this performance? Like man, they went with the "typical" gentle/close to the original beginning and suddenly we arrive to Pentatonix's own niche! Like my reaction went from "this is pretty good" to "OH MY GOSH!"

I adore how they remixed it. I adore it!! Even this early in the lifetime of PTX, they already had that same originality and creativity to them, to the point where they had the balls to take such a giant risk with remixing this song and then completely nailed it. And Kirstie really shone in this.

This was their "worst," yet set the stage for them to make musical mountains out of molehills. It also set the pattern they have stuck with: to do a cover so awesome that it erases the original from the memory of man.

I'm just gonna say this - Pentatonix is the best group that has EVER been on this show. There is not a single genre that they haven't rocked, even the ones that I don't care for. They're very theatre, very tight, and very intelligent.

I think this has to be one of my favorite PTX songs from the sing off... It seems like a precursor to what they would do in the future, especially some of their originals. Love it!
