The only thing I like about installing dishwashers is the hose connection on the solenoid. I hate the rest of the install. In Mass. there now must be a cord installed on the machine and a receptacle installed under the sink. No more hard wiring. The guy I used to work with would steal the sample of soap they would supply with the machine. THe other trouble I have is when you slide new machine in the insulation won't stay in place when sliding machine in. What I do is to duct tape the insulation in place and that keeps it from bunching up.

I'm watching to the end John...$200 no wonder ? Would you love to do them at $600 ?? You gotta up your rates man ! I tell people $285 - 300 "Basic" but can run 50-100 more cause of addl wiring or stop needed.....I've raised my prices 3x since Covid.. Keep raising until you get more No's...

I add a shut off and increase the price a little. I'm usually around 400$ for a customer supplied dishwasher install

Mr. Sunshine I love the ones where the kitchens have been remodeled and they have half inch marble on the floor with half inch thin set and you have to cut the legs off the old dishwasher to get it out and then you can’t get the new one in . I think we’ve all been there✌️ it’s not you Johnny. They are very difficult. $300+ job for sure

@Pipesolutionsinc absolutely 💯, we get a lot of SHIT thrown at us and have to make it work somehow,intestinal fortitude is a requirement if you want to be a plumber.

My last call of the year was replacing an old 4 bolt toilet with a new comfort height toilet. Lead bend, no flange. HELL. And then clear a floor drain that a washing machine was rigged up to dump over into. Also HELL. Finally, unclog a tub drain with a drum trap. I was over it at that point. 1950’s house. Absolute nightmare!! HAPPY F’IN NEW YEAR 😂

Those dishwashers are a bitch to install Johnny. Leveling etc etc I did one as a DYI and put alot of work into my first and last.
