Uncle John, dump in some AT-205 in to the hydraulic reservoir for the lift. I use it on my outboard trim seals and rear main oil leak on my truck. AT-205 is great stuff.

Chain repair links are a quick solution if you decide you want that length back or need it to lay flat on the ground, you could just undo the chain repair link, roll on an item, then put the links back in.

Home Depot sells heavy duty half inch gauge quick links that you can add to the chain which will fix it. Chain dept brother.

I would paint neverseize all over the receiver to be able to to get it out in the future.
