Filmed in January, 2021.
This is on the same day as the preceding out in the woods "In With the New,,, Year, Saw, Well Mostly Anyway" 592XP video posted in early 2023 - . • 2nd Tree, Impressive F... There is a fair amount of qualifiers in that video's description.
Reiterating -
"I was entrusted to use this "mo-chine" in various "gnawing" activities. This was the first instance in a tree. Literally the first outing to the point of I started it for the 1st time that day.
This is the same "strip" where I was using my 2100, a stock 500i & the Franken 500i - seen here testing the 2nd gen 500i MaxFlow® cover assembly in prototype white, a 572 with a 38" bar, my 181/281 hybrid with a 42"er, my 481 Torque Monster, etc.
I had properly "did" Mr. "outinthewood" s 500i ~ 8 months prior. I had a fair amount of time to saw test it at varying elevations (800 to 4300 feet). It can be seen in a number of the 500i videos on this channel. I ran it with stock filtering. I used it to test the early version Max-Flow® system and provide feedback to Mr. Max-Flow for some of the minor tweaks.
There is some dialog in this session. I talk about the way this Husky runs. At that juncture, the nomenclature (number designation) was unknown. There was a lot of speculation, read rumor mill, going on all over the internet. I knew the bore size from the cylinder notation. I knew it was the replacement for the 395. I had worked backward with the calculator to get a reasonable stroke to arrive ~ the 91 (38mm) to 94cc (40mm) displacement.
Anyhoo, since this was a prototype I was hopeful that is was on the longer side stroke wise. Turns out, it has a 39mm stroke.
I will stand by my thoughts mentioned. For a purely stock saw that was the best running one I've had meathooks on."
This tree needed just a bit more force applied by the Cousin Gary at the helm of the 270 Deere. If it is an indication as to just how tough the limbs are in this "strip", surely then it is spelled out here.
Managed to flatten out the fence out a bit. Saved the posts!!! I think that there was talk of removing it altogether. If you haven't wrecked much felling timber then you also haven't felled much...
Getting a little help for Action J on the snaring. Still not completely grasping the over the top method, but we are learning.
Bottom line, that thing has some kahunas!!! for a stocker.
At the time of your viewing this, I may, or may not, be immediately available for custom saw modifications. I am booked out several months regularly. If you are interested in having a saw zipped, please shoot me an email. That is the best, first point of contact.

Have one on the bench now. They are going to/will/do run great. They are a raw air stratified engine design. Back to the mix oil, Mix Oil, MIX OIL concept. Better be using one in the top tier of 4 or 5 choices. I made a prediction,,, back in '19, months before ever seeing a 5ooi in person or the engine layout in picture form. It was - the prediction - that if it (5ooi) was a same/similar engine design as 462 that my 461 Torque Monster would take the 5ooi. Turns out, the 5ooi is more similar to the 461 - in the regard that they are a 1-series engine design. I.E., they stratify with exhaust gasses and not raw air. In the end, best I can do on the 5ooi, sans Frankenizing one, the 461s take them. Albeit the 461 is ~ ½ a pound more mass. Also notable, my 461 gets around TWICE the fuel mileage. The 461s & 5ooi run close to the same if a 5ooi is Frankenizied. Coming around full circle (or getting back on track, lol.): Longevity is going to go to the 395s, all things being equal and with a properly tuned carb. I am going to say, based on what I know about making saws run to their potential, that the 395 is going to take the 592. That's if both are tuned/ported/modified to the same level. I think it will be more noticeable with/in the 395 if both are also Torque Tweaked. Guess we will see if I'm talking out my rear at some point... Thanks for watching.

Hi Jack Nice to see you got your hands on a Husqvarna 592 xp I’ve had mine for a about 6 months great saw plenty of power for a stock saw only 2 things I don’t like about this saw factory felling dogs are small and flimsy and air filter isn’t great small particles are getting through on the base of filter bit of grease does the job maybe someone will design filter for these saws like Max flow has done for STIHL. Can’t wait to see you doing more testing and modifications on this saw good job 👍

This was filmed a couple of years ago, in January. So ~ 1/15/21. I thought that the dawgs did alright for stockers - as opposed to the 390 set that the engineers were warned about and actually have a video of the saw falling off of a log. I've had to use grease on some of my saws while working in burns before. Necessary,,, but a pain in the arse... They did "upgrade" the rubber lip in the filters at some point. I have no idea if Joseph is going to indulge the Husky crowd or not. Thanks for watching.

I've been lucky so far. I've only destroyed I saw, and I've only needed stitches one time. Bent a couple bars. Not that's not really wrecking anything.
@hotsaws101

Mr. Logjamin, that's been what I've seen... For those that haven't wrecked much: I guess the question begs, what kind of ground, i.e. flat, steep choppy, long, rolly etc., etc. are we talking about. The other side of that is just how tall the trees are. The species plays a role as does the weather related conditions the tree "grew up in". Tall and/or big trees on bad ground equals breakage, period. There's no way around it either based on the 4 + decades of my experience. Heck, one of the worst places to fell a tall fir is into the landing. Chunk city is the net result in the top. Thanks for watching.

I did like that saw. The production saws run about the same - which is good. With all things covid, getting saws has been a pain... Stock for stock the 592s run better than the 395s. You can apply some pressure on the handle/pistol grip and they pull nicely. The 592s weight 1 full pound less than the 395s. Raw air injection engine design. My usual - mix oil, Mix Oil, MIX OIL!!! Better be using one of the 4 or 5 choices in the top tier if a guys wants longevity. Thanks for watching.

@@robertshoemaker6204 I've only looked at the Indian (East) versions from them. I didn't like the fit(s) & have never used one. Generally the "casting leftovers" are a turn off to me as well. So, not positive about the "made in the USA" slugs. I'd have to mic one 1st. Then run it fir awhile if I liked the fit. Keep in mind that those are designed to be in a stock mo-chine as far as I can surmise.

The Meteor piston should work fine. They are as close to Mahle as you can get in an am part. I'd stay away from Chinese anything saw personally. I'd think about my mix oil too.

Do you think the stihl ms400 will oil a 28” light bar well enough? Saw won’t be used a lot just for campfires cutting for some wood at home, not used daily or even weekly. I live in the PNW so I’m basically always cutting soft wood and usually not too big of trees. I know it’s a little light on oil especially for a 28” bar, but I’m wondering if my scenario would allow for it? Thanks
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 Жыл бұрын
I think that is the max for a stock oiler. However, If you are using the Sthil bar oil that is not going to help. You need a thicker oil. It will pump better and send more lubricant down the rails. A chain that makes chips instead of dust will also help the process. Best of luck. Thanks for watching.

From the title I thought you were going to show a 592XP Fail … I was kinda worried. I have a 562XP I’ve run hard for 7+ years and now a 572XP I’m running pretty hard for the last 6 months … both stock but I’m changing the air filter systems and adding wrap around handles … and maybe the dogs. In the 80’s I was strictly Stihl but when I got back into it 12+ years ago the Husq specs were better, using other people’s saws between Stihl & Husq “Farmer Grade” saws the Husq kept coming out just a bit better. I went with the Husq XP Line … I’m glad I did, I’ve been nothing but pleased but in the 20+ years I was away, prices of saws, bars and chains have REALLY CHANGED.
