I was looking at those 592’s I have 2 395’s right now they’re fast cutters. But at the end of the day you feel it. A lot of guys will tell you to put a big bar on a 372 with a skip chain, but I would never go back from my purchase of this saw. Will run full buck full chisel or square ground chain and pull like nothing else. Love these saws. 👍

i have most of the husky saws, couple 372’s and i got the 572 because of chris’s channel and i just run .050 full skip chains on all these 24” saws, and there close, but the 372’s are just stronger and faster, you can hear the lag as soon as his 592 hit the wood and the 572 is the same, then it comes to life, the 372 and 395 saws just eat wood quicker and faster…he’s not getting me this time…i’m buying another 395!

You guys are both great. Down to earth and real. I love your assessment of both. Since I have both saws, And have a 28 inch full comp on the 592 and a 32 inch full skip on the 395, I get asked comparison questions all the time. I wanted to offer my crude comparison and I would love your opinion having run both yourselves. Being 61 years old and having been fortunate enough to have owned a 1968 Plymouth satellite with the 426 hemi engine, I compare the 395 to an American big block eight cylinder engine and I compare the 592 to a turbo charged Porsche. The balance point on both my size is precise and perfect because of the bar geometry that I chose for each one. That being said the 592 is definitely lighter and using each of them for hours, I noticed that. However what I also noticed is that the 592 has far more torque and runs at a higher RPM and it’s simply able to go through wood faster. How ever, the 395 Feels like it has a little more power through very dense and hardwood. Both saws are excellent and will eat through anything quickly. But that is the only difference that I notice. They also start quickly and are easy to start because I follow the protocol which is far different for each saw. I would love your opinions on this. Thank you

Good question, and is one highly debated. With a brand new saw is it best to run it for a tank or two in smaller wood of say 12in or less before letting it rip in the big wood? Some people think you need to idle a saw for a full tank first, which is bonkers.

On bars 28in length or less full-comp chain cuts faster. Now in the 32in and up bar length, especially in softwoods, skip-tooth chain helps keep the cut clear of the chips n noodles better. Not sure on how skip-tooth affects cleaning of the cut using a 32in or longer bar in hardwoods.
@thefirewooddoctor2 жыл бұрын
Remember, each cutter on a skip-tooth chain will wear faster than the cutters on a full-comp chain as the cutters on a skip-tooth have more work to do.

There is a technique for the 395. It was a small learning curve for me. I have both saws as well. If you don’t follow the protocol on the 395, it will be a kittle harder to start. I live in Georgia and I got literally the first 592 XP sold in Georgia. A lot of people I know, including video chainsaw star cotton top have had issues with the 592 starting. There is a protocol with those as well with the auto tune. No matter who makes them and however you look at it, two cycle engines can be temperamental and moody. Auto tune or not. I’m originally from the Northeast, the hot humid southern weather has its advantages and drawbacks on these engines, sodas the cold New England weather. I look forward to doing more work with each of these saws side-by-side. I have a 32 inch X - tough light bar on the 395 and I have a 28 inch X - tough light bar on the 592. The balance point of each side with these bars is insane. I do a lot of plunge cutting so having a super balanced saw, especially with these heavy saws, is wonderful and really saves your back at the end of the day.

Skip tooth chains are great for big wood faster to sharpen. But for cutting limbs they grab to much wood almost like it is trying to rip it apart instead of sawing it.

I don't know why you would want to have a dull chain on your saw around your brother Kenny.

I was not dull, it was just not sharp.
