Am Polish too cousin, please do not bless the south. The average confederate fought to preserve the institution of slavery, with Alexander Stephens (Vice President of the confederacy) stating the reason for the confederacy was to create a government that ‘accepted’ the natural inferiority of Africans to white Americans, and that slavery would act as a teaching mechanism. Fuck the south.

I learned to play violin at age 8, so "rosin" and "bow" evoke ancient memories! Rosining produces a lot of dust. (I had actually wanted to learn the clarinet.) Although, unlike you, i was not very ambitious or proficient on the violin, i kept playing in school and then college orchestras, mainly because i loved music and was content to be a part of it. I also learned piano and guitar too but alas, never got highly proficient with them either! I'm far better at graphic arts without even trying. So now i don't play, i just listen to high quality music and am quite content!

During the 'arc' of our reenacting/performing years, we were fortunate to meet many wonderful, and colorful folks. One of the most wonderful such persons was Chip Breeze, once a very imposing Richmond, VA, detective and larger-than-life personality. He had long collected and studied 19th century 'stump speeches' (many of them comedic minstrel versions), and created a period character, Dr. Hezikiah T. Witherspoon, who would reenact these hilarious speeches at events where we and a few other bands similar to ours would appear. "The Lady and De Frog" is one of them. A “Stump Speech” traditionally followed the first act of a minstrel show.
