Zino Francescatti's parents were violinists. He was first taught by his father who had studied with Camillo Sivori, a pupil of Paganini.

I had never heard of Davico before I stumbled on it in my 1160 hours of music. I heard Francpscatti several times with the Houston Symphony in the late 50s up to the middle 60s. He played well but nothing like this. Thanks for listening.

interesting, Heifetz also recorded just the 2nd mov of the Goldmark, and never the whole concerto. what a shame. and Zino didn't even record the whole 2nd mov

at 6:45 is Dave Rubinoff ("Rubinoff and His Violin") an early crossover success
