Has someone explained what happened? Pac had alot of love for NY. Unfortunately he was heartbroken by the betrayal he felt after he was set up to be robbed, got shot up and none of his so called friends, when all of the main industry people in NY were at the studio, celebrating and said I don't know nothing 🙃. Gotta understand this is a homage track, Pac moved to Baltimore at about 13 and then to Marin City California at 16 going on 17 cut his teeth musically in the Bay Area so this is a track paying to homage to his childhood years but by this time in his career(95') Pac was largely associated with the west coast having come up under digital underground. Plus he got shot in NY Nov. 94. As some others in the comments would point out that changed everything prior to that Pac played it pretty neutral in terms of coastal rivalry. Even still, Pac's beef was not all that coastal...How could it be He had Redman and Method Man on All Eyez On Me and was working with Boot Camp Clik on One Nation...Dude really just had an issue with Biggie/Puff and Bad Boy. I recommend reacting to interviews a lot of context can't be soaked in listening and reacting to songs.
