I love watching 2pac reactions. Watching people realize that he wasn't who the media portrayed him as and seeing that people understand why he has such a following that has nothing to do with being thuggish.

Great reaction .👌💯 Knew of Tupac but had never sat and listened to the lyrics and understand them .He raps of feeling Trapped by his circumstances but yet accepting of them and the events of his life ! 🔥 A nice tune with a very serious subject matter . one of my absolute favorite pac songs because it's insanely raw. been so low. Man this hits and i'm not a substance abuser either. just been down. to lose friends. The line "and he knew it when he shook and died" gets me. Also, like none of these are radio tracks. Cause when these came out maybe only Temptations was on the radio. People knew these songs cause people listened to albums and got way beyond the single releases. We listened to these whole albums. I remember the first time i really listened to this song (it was on the second play through). But man. One of my all time favorite tracks. Haunting. The discussion of trauma, suicide, the self medicating with substances, etc. It's just so personal. A lot of people just dealing with a life of trauma. I'm very lucky. I try to never forget that and all the people whose lives may be laced with trauma i couldnt' imagine that started long before i came to know them. The margin of this song has a link to a Forest Gump reaction i watched today. And speaking of trauma people always want to hate on Jenny but just like many people her character was dealing with a life of sexual abuse as a child. So i'm always sympathetic and try to understand that character. Be it a child or a soldier, ptsd is a brutal thing.

I love this song ... always have. The only thing I would change about it is the chorus. I would add a layer of complexity to it, instead of just LORD KNOWS repeated. This song does a great job of taking you into despair and struggle of street/ghetto life. The lyric that always jumps out at me is: Homies died in my arms, with his brains hangin, f'd up! I had to tell him it was alright, and that's a lie And he knew it when he shook and died, my God Something about those lyrics ALWAYS impacts me. This song is a more grimy than the introductory songs like Brenda's Got a Baby, Keep Ya Head Up, Unconditional Love, Dear Mama, etc. I'm glad you can still keep an open mind, appreciate it for what it is, and put it into perspective. Nicely done.

Thanks and you are right those lines are fire. So impactful. Thanks!

@@ReactionsToTheClassics Tupac is a rabbit hole that doesn't end. I want to recommend songs for you to target, but I don't know where to start, and where to end. There is one song that for whatever reason, I always think of when I hear Lord Knows. They go together for me. They are both charged with passion and emotion and desperation. It's a little on the grimy side, but if you were able to be open-minded enough to appreciate LORD KNOW, you might be able to also appreciate HELLRAZOR.

Shawn and Gina, The song has a steady rhythm in the tempo. Wow, 2Pac pulls no punches in the lyrics the way he wrote about what he was experiencing. It sounds like 2Pac had mixed feelings about his life, but he did use graphic language to speak his m8nd. Good point by Gina on how he was crying out to the Lord because only the Lord knows what each of us is going through. Great comment Shawn on only the Lord Jesus is perfect, and you are right, we ought not judge others because they handle problems different than we do. As Christians, you both understand in your Biblical explanation, and your comments are on point.I am learning a lot watching your videos.

The Mansa, the distractions Tupac had to deal with makes his body of work all the more remarkable. The MULTIPLE cases and lawsuits can not be overlooked. They will suck you dry of time, energy, and money. Factor into that that he spent a year in jail, along with other shorter stays. Yet he left us with a body of work that's hard to comprehend. Five real, hollywood movies, appearances on TV shows, and a seemingly bottomless catalog of songs. And to think that at 19 he was basically nobody, and died at 25. Within that time he did so much that it seems like he worked 72 hours a day.

One thing I would point out you should be aware of when you listen to 2pac is that, although he raps in 1st person, he often tries to tell the stories of a young black male, and by putting himself in the persons shoes. I think this song is one of the perfect example of those. Standing in the shoes of black males who are going through a tough life, feeling hopeless and suicidal. He sprinkles his life experiences and emotions here and there to speak his truth, but his stories are more of a semi-autobiography. So you might tend to hear contradictory information (about him) in his music.
