ENHYPEN are a fourth generation group where 2PM are a second generation group. Second gen. is way different from all the other generations. Which is why second gen. feels so much more open and free. Second generation has always been the era where it was/is common practice to have girls in their MVs and as their backup dancers, etc. Second generation fans are used to the fact that they interact with girls and women all the time, so we have no problem with them having girls in their MVs. However, starting with third generation groups, this began the era where the Kpop industry sort of insulated them and made it appear as if they never interact with anyone of the opposite sex. If you notice, most of the time whenever pretty much any third generation or younger group or artist, is around someone of the opposite sex, we hardly ever see the other person's face or see them interacting together. Third generation was when the Kpop industry decided to take the Idol image up to the next level and make it appear as if the idols were solely devoted to their fans and that they never have any outside distractions. Second generation, on the other hand, was when the Kpop industry really hit its stride and this era was a lot more about the interactions between the groups and how it was just one big happy family. With second generation they were all just groups and artists, it didn't matter what company they were from or what their music style was or whether they were a girl group or a boy group, they were just all part of the same industry and everyone got along. We very rarely even talked about what company a group was from back then, because it didn't matter. Third generation is where everything become more exclusive and it mattered what company a group or artist was from. It became all about a group's popularity and how they had to be better than everyone else. Everything became much more about cliques and it's more about an appearance of competitiveness and the importance of someone's status and rank within the industry. It became about who is better than who. It's very much reflective of society in general these days. Third gen. started the trend of always having to prove themselves and to show their worth by being better than everyone else. Where second gen. doesn't have to prove anything anymore, their popularity and standing doesn't waver just because they aren't the top seller with their last comeback or they didn't win every award under the sun. (I mean all those things are great and it's meaningful when they win, but that's not what second gen. are all about.) You can even see a difference in their fandoms. Second gen. fandoms get along with each other and they are friends with all the fandoms. If you were a fan during second gen.'s heyday then you know all the second gen groups and artists, and even if you aren't a super fan of a curtain group or artist, you probably still are a fringe fan. Where third generation and younger fandoms are much more exclusive, and they more often are competing with each other to prove who is better. For people who didn't get into Kpop until third or fourth gen., you see a lot less mixing of fandoms. For example, it almost feels taboo to say you're a fan of BTS and EXO in the same sentence without feeling like you need to qualify that statement by letting people know you have more love or passion for one group over the other, etc. Unfortunately, the industry has changed, but it really explains why you see and feel such a difference with second generation groups and artists compared to third and fourth generation, etc.

2nd gen has a lot of "dating" shows then or parts of variety shows where idols get paired up etc. newer gen fans would not last going through the crush/ideal type olympics that they used to do before. there's a lot more idols who can openly say who they like/consider their type plus there were those who are openly paired up like Yoona & Taecyeon etc and yeah, 3rd gen kind of started the multiple comebacks within short intervals (i remember BAP kind of starting this, lol). as a kpop fan since 2009 a lot has really changed. some for the better but a lot for the worse, it seems. but maybe i'm just used to how things are then

2PM back then was known for being the sexy/beastly idols, so the close ups on certain movements and body parts were very deliberate during their era! Also, I highly suggest watching King the Land since it stars Junho from 2PM and Yoona from Girls Generation. They also did a joint dance stage, just the two of them to Senorita that caught a lot of attention (since it was announced around the same time that they would be leading a drama together). And finally, 2PM and Girls Generation have a very long history together. At one point in time, they were often paired together for endorsements, and did a song and MV for a water park called the Cabi song. It was definitely a fun era if you stanned both groups at the same time!

Just wanna add, not only are they super attractive but talented; such a complete and charismatic group(both together and individually)not only they serve vocals, visuals, performance... they are also super involved creatively, specially taec, junk and chansung with a bunch of writing/producing credits. "My house", their most well-known track was actually composed by junk. As for the difference between generations and the showcase of mature concepts i believe theres a lot of layers to this, but esencially the globalisation and spread of the kpop wave is probably part of the reason( larger audience= more toxic/jelous fans) ,companies are probably more concious of minors as theyve realised theyre a huge part of their consumers, targetting them more, + taking advantage of younger trainees by debuting them when they are still teens is defenitely another factor

I think 2PM is a legend. I remember watching their "Tokyo Dome I'll Be Back" concert video and thinking "that's why people love kpop". They are the group that made me love kpop, then I became a Twice fan, but 2PM has a special place in my heart. Their vocals are so good. , their concerts are incredibly entertaining and high quality, their personalities are amazing, they are incredibly entertaining, they are very crazy. If I had a time machine, I would go back in time and watch them live.. I got into kpop through 2PM, so imagine my surprise when that whole Enhypen thing went down lol. And as someone else said, this is nothing. I think they just used the dancers to spice up this stage since they already had them, but Back 2 U, Missing U, Good Man is where the real heat is lol. If a new gen idol group did that on stage, I'm pretty sure there'd be a dozen protest trucks and worse. The only ones I can see getting away with it is like Kard or something. They're all very funny together - - and for idols, they don't mind joking around and being silly. Oh - - stick with Vincenzo! It was CF mv , they chose the "hottest" members of both groups, Bermuda line (Yoona, Yuri and Seohyun) and Taecyeon, Chansung , Nickhun. 2PM and Girls Generation were always paired everywhere hahah during their era.
