Great reaction ladies, I'm around your age and just love this group. The energy from the girls is unbelievable and the lead singer, Su, fits just so well with the music. In this video the singer Su had just turned 16 the day before and the others two, Moa and Yui, were 14. It's amazing to see such talented performers as these three young girls. Love your reactions, keep it up.

I only discovered these girls this January, and at first I thought " what the hell did I just experience?" It was with "Gimme Chocolate" that KZbin had recommended to me. But I gave it a chance and listened to another song, and now "Gimme Chocolate" is one of my most favourite songs because it gave me such a WTF moment. I really love these girls and was so lucky to know about them just in time for their very first concert in Denmark in February. The concert was sold out many months in advance, but I was lucky to find on who could not go, so I bought his tickets, and it was one of the best experiences of my life! I have listened to their music every day ever since! ❤️❤️❤️ Kitsune up! 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻🦊

There's a saying in the Babymetal community, "Give us 3 songs and we'll make you a fan". The reason for this is twofold. First, the mere concept of 3 cute Japanese girls dancing and singing to heavy metal music is very unusual, dare I say strange. It's certainly something that very few people outside of Japan has ever experienced before they stumble on to Babymetal. The usual first impression here ranges from "WTF did I just watch?" to "That's just not right!". For most people, it takes 2 or 3 songs before they start seeing (and hearing) beyond the frilly dresses, energetic dancing and pony tails. It also takes a song or two for them to start letting go of their preconceptions. After 2 or 3 songs, the shock wears off and people start to appreciate Babymetal for what it is. Second, Babymetal's discography is so diverse that even if you didn't like their first song, odds are good that you'll like some of their other songs. This assumes, of course, that you can get past the shock of 3 cute Japanese girls singing and dancing to heavy metal. As Granny Hayes said, she didn't like the first song she heard, but after hearing more from Babymetal she really likes them now. What really gets me is that the first exposure most reacters have to Babymetal is Gimme Chocolate. Don't get me wrong, GC is a cool and fun song, but as a first experience, well, let's just say that there's a metric crapton of culture shock to deal with there. I fully believe that people suggesting Gimme Chocolate to an uninitiated reacter is doing for the shock factor.
@Tyranastrasza4 жыл бұрын
Even in Japan, the concept of mixing Metal and Idol was something of a shock, and is still "weird" by most people standards.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 A classic BABYMETAL song (one of their earliest hits) and a full on rocker. I love that Su gets to sing much of this one in a lower register. Even though 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!!' is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy rock concert, Su was only fourteen when the song was released. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than attending concerts like the girl in the song. Both Yui and Moa got to take over on lead vocals on this one for shows near their fifteenth birthdays. In 2017 and 2019, Su and Moa performed it on concerts close to their 20th birthdays, with a slight lyric change (15 to 20). The 20th birthday is a very important one in Japan. The neck brace you'll see at BABYMETAL concerts and in the 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!!' music video is an homage to Yoshiki from the band X-Japan who headbanged so much he had to wear a neck brace to minimize further injury. Although I agree that BABYMETAL are at their best live, I also highly recommend watching the music videos. Especially 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!!', 'Karate' and 'Megitsune'. In some cases, some of the things you'll see in the live performances have a bit more context if you've seen the music video for the song.

If there is one song Babymetal does that you should be able to relate to, it's this one. It's about 15 year old girl wanting to go see a Metal Concert (on her 15th birthday) and basically being told that Metal is no place for girls....... she defies the sterotype, goes to the concert, and is transformed into a headbanger. On a side note, this concert dates back to 2013 and it is their very first large venue concert. Prior to this they had performed in small venues (as small as 250 people). This was their first "arena" show. It's the show where they and their management made it evident there was much more here than a simple "gimmick". All that is Babymetal can be traced back to this show as their introduction to the world.

Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal) was born for this. Her older sister and her have performed for a couple years as Tween. Her sister Himeka Nakamoto was a Nogizaka46 member and has graduated from that group. Their dad was also in a band called the Hooligans. Too much grunting and growling. Suddenly “Karate” and then “Megitsune. Kawaii Metal saved heavy music for me. I began to look fo good new music again. Last year my oldest daughter flew me up to Seattle and took me to see BabyMetal. What a blast. I was so happy Headbanger was on the set list. It felt so good to see Su hold up that mic and get to shout out ‘KI E RO’ with a few thousand other Kitsune. I never thought I would check that off my bucket list. I’m 62 by the way.

Now I'm stuck not being able to see them until either 1) The U.S. stops being stupid (that's a long shot) with the pandemic, or 2) Europe/Asia allow flights from states that have done things the right way and have cases going way down, which I happen to live in one of those. I cannot wait to see them live!

It does not get surrgested because it gets blocked and only compilation video available. We surrgest some more regular because there usely only ones on KZbin and do not normally get blocked . You may have noticed Road of Resistance is not getting as many recommendations lately due to takedowns . The only way to get proper version of Yava is link and sync .🤘😁🤘

@@taptoplayde If another BM song is on the agenda, it has to be Iine which may have the most bad ass breakdown ever. The Tokyo Dome version gives me goosebumps.

@@texascpa No matter how bad it gets, that breakdown always makes me smile.

at that young age and they already have the ability to control massive crowd , that power is no joke. tough as the hardest metal and at the same time delicate as a flower.

I highly recommend Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischief of the Gods intro next. The Kami Band behind the girls really get to show off how amazing they are in this one. It also gives you a feel for how good Su-Metal's vocals are. After that you should do Karate official mv. This is a polished and professional mv and simply outstanding. Thank you for the reactions. I found this band back in 2018 and have been a die hard fan ever since. Not only are they different and quirky but they set a wonderful example for my granddaughters. :)
