Good reaction. This was a compilation video with clips from lots of their shows in Japan ... the biggest headline shows that they did, and it was shown in this video, was at the Tokyo Dome with a sold out crowd of 55,000 (they sold it out the next night as well). The crowds at their shows outside of Japan may not be as big (although they did headline Wembley Arena in 2016 and the Forum in LA in 2019), but they are every bit as lively right from the front row to the people sitting up in the balcony ... that was definitely the case when I saw them at the Brixton Academy in 2019 and Hammersmith Apollo early in 2020. 'Headbanger' is one of their earlier songs and still one of their most popular - and they switch it up every time they play it too. It is about a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday, but it is also about coming of age (15 in Japan is like 16 here where you have to choose further education or go out and get a job), so she is realising she will no longer be considered as a child and those first 15 years have gone so fast. Su-metal, the lead singer, was actually 14 when they recorded this song so it is not autobiographical, but she could relate as she was not just attending her first metal concert, she was already performing in them. On or near their respective 15th birthdays the two younger girls, Yuimetal and Moametal, took over lead vocals for the last half of this song. Moa did the same again on her 20th birthday in 2019 ... it is her 22nd birthday today (July 4th), so happy birthday Moa. Yes please with more BABYMETAL reactions, every song is different, some are heavier some lean towards their pop roots and they will also mix in many other musical styles with the metal - and they never disappoint. How about their first appearance in the UK at Sonisphere in 2014 in front of 60,000 UK metalheads - 99% of them didn't have a clue who they were before they started and the girls were 16 and just turned 15. The song is 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' (Bullying, No More, For Ever - you can call it IDZ).

@@BreakdownMediaYT some of the video was also the American band that backed them recently in the 2019/2020 American and European tours and also at one concert in Japan. I think the American drummer is even better. He's Anthony Barrone from a metal core band. The Japanese bassist BOH is incredible. He's the one with a shaved head and plays a 6 string bass. Anthony Barrone and BOH and Hideki Aoyoma the Japanese drummer are all exceptionally good. Everybody else I would describe as 'very good'. From what I've seen everyone sounds better with Babymetal. They must have incredible sound technicians.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 I was thrilled when they brought this song back in 2019. Finally got to hear it live. Even though 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when the song was originally released. It's not biographical, but it is a song she could relate to. At that age she was on stage, rather than attending concerts like the girl in the song. Both Yui and Moa got to take over on lead vocals on this one for a few shows near their fifteenth birthdays. More recently both Su and Moa performed it on concerts close to their 20th birthdays, with a slight lyric change (15 to 20). The 20th birthday is a very important one in Japan. Speaking of birthdays, today is Moa's 22nd (July 4th, 1999). Happy Birthday Moa!

There are usually two huge shows like you see here in these cuts. Those shows become videos and merchandise demons. On tour they will either tour as an opening act or in small shows without all the huge sets. Great business model to sell videos and merch while cutting cost. Live they are amazing to see and in smaller venues they have less audio backup to help them out. Babymetal are graduates of a school based talent show. Two other groups, Perfume and One OK Rock are related to Babymetal and are great on their own. Crazy, crazy stuff and just awesome fun.

I feel like you should watch the video that showed how they were launched into the world stage. I recommend reacting to "Ijime Dame Zettai" by Babymetal live in Sonisphere 2014. A bit of context: This was there first world tour outside of Japan and they were steadily building up numbers but still relatively unknown. They've done a number of shows before Sonisphere. They were supposed to play like a side stage where there were actual fans of them waiting to see them, but for some strange reason, they were booked onto the main stage. And we know how UK metal fans tend to be aggressive towards acts they either don't know or if they think it sucks. When the girls peeked out and saw how many people were going to watch them, they got scared, but built up the courage and just basically were like, "You know what? Let's just give them a good show." And when they went out, the crowds reaction ranged from: "Who's this wacky band?" to "Hey, they sound kinda good" to "OMG, I love this band." They basically were the talk of the entire festival after that and all their merch that day were sold out.

@@BreakdownMediaYT Ijime Dame Zettai is always fantastic live. My personal favorite version is at Legend Z. It was a super early concert 15 months before the release of their first album. The girls wore white to celebrate a new beginning as they had just become an independent group. They originally started as a subgroup of a Japanese Idol Group. In theory nobody knew what was going to happen as their lead singer Su had become too old for the Idol Group and was 'graduating'. Babymetal could have been disbanded or Su could have been replaced and Babymetal could have continued as a subgroup. I'm sure fans were worried at the time but I don't think that anything other than what happened was ever a serious option. Babymetal was created for and partially because of Su. Their producer Koba had been thinking of the concept but only decided to do it when he discovered Su.

If you are from the UK, you'll be pleased to know that the girls consider UK their "second home" ever since they made a breakthrough appearance at the Sonisphere 2014 festival. Legend has it they outsold every other band present at that festival eventough most people did not know about them or most if they did, simply disliked them because they thought BABYMETAL was just a gimmick band that was an insult to metal. Lots of things changed on that day. Most people recommend to watch the "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" live performance at Sonisphere that is on KZbin. The backstory, in short, is that the band was moved to the mainstage of the festival a few months before and it pissed off a large number of people who said they'd be happy to throw bottles of piss at them and would boo them off. The girls, very young at the time (around 15/16 years old) only wanted to tour the world and visit new places and meet new people. They were a bit scared of the backlash of attending a festival with a potential hostile crowd of metalheads from accross the world that weren't already fans of theirs. But they pushed through and the rest is History. This is how and why they now call the UK their "second home" because that was their entrance to the World outside of Japan. They've come to UK quite a lot since then and there's a good chance if you become interested enough in their music/shows that you'll be able to attend one soon in the UK once they come back. ;)

Been to see them twice on London! They are something else - seriously got me through lockdown (lost a family member sadly) along with Nightwish. I would suggest basically anything by either of the bands I mentioned. Babymetal have a song called 'Papaya' which is a joy to watch. Su Metal (singer) does some solo songs to give the girls a rest : 'No Rain no Rainbow', 'Akatsuki' 'Amore' and 'Rondo of Nightmare'. So many more songs with all of them but I've gone on too long 😆. Don't start on Nightwish or you'll be hooked forever - if you do, 'Ghost Love Score' live from Wacken festival has to be your first - it's a must and you won't regret it. Very pleased to have found fellow Brits viewing the same music I love. Take good care of yourselves. NB. I noticed you mentioned "I wouldn't say no" !! Headbanger (Babymetal song) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially. Single: Babymetal Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation Language: Japanese Released: July 4, 2012 Genre: Power metal Length: 14:44 Label: Juonbu Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki Producer: Kobametal Narametal: (arrangement) Babymetal singles chronology:- "Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012) "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013) Background and release:- Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to use it to contrast traditional death growls. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle. Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's KZbin channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title. Tekina Remix:- During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix". nice reaction. I Rate that 3000. Babymetal knows how to put on a show. Love them or hate them you can't take that away from them. They get a lot more love these days. What music you should react to is what you want to listen too. But start with more Babymetal.

Can I give you a recommendation that will really, really, really, really RATE? Check out this same song, but the Moa-Banger version! It is from Moametal's 20th birthday, and after the lead break, Moa takes over the lead vocals through the end of the song! And her voice is gorgeous! It's so rare that we get to hear her sing in her normal voice, as opposed to the child-like squeals we hear in Gimme Chocolate and a few other songs. Here is a link to the Babymetal Reactors II version, so you shouldn't have to worry about copyright strikes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqiolYCDfKxljKc

Thanks so much for your kind reply - don't get many to be honest. I know I already suggested Nightwish but due to the algorithms, if you covered 'Ghost Love Score' live at Wacken, I think your subscriptions will double overnight! Just saying!

Yes more reaction please! I enjoyed it very much. Please react to their song BABYMETAL - いいね!(Iine!) - Idol Pop +Death Metal + Hip-hop + Happy Trance/Hardcore. (Music Video) or Doki Doki☆Morning (ド・キ・ド・キ☆モーニング; so this is their 1st and second debut song. Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭🔥🤘

Great reaction but you shouldn’t use compilation videos for the reaction video, since they are super confusing and don’t transport the whole experience. Btw the stadium you saw is from the Tokyo Dome show which they filled with 55.000 people on two days (110.000 in total).

Welcome to the foxhole!! 🦊 No worries we have all been there. The moment from confusion and denial to revelation is all part of the journey. Babymetal is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. There was also a pretty good cover story in Metal Hammer recently. Think it may have been last month. I recommend picking up a copy as it's going to be a collectors. As many fans will tell you haven't seen Babymetal till you've seen them live. I can attest to this and recommend checking out "Pa Pa Ya" Live. "The One" which was done in English at the Tokyo Dome as a tribute to fans. As well as "Road To Resistance Live. Su-Metal also had an epic collaboration with Rob Halford of Judas Priest a few years ago. It's still one of my favorite performances other then Glasgow which I attended. Along with BabyMetal I also recommend Band-Maid & Dreamcatcher. 🤘
