I made my granny listen to Slipknot when they came out, over and over. She liked Sabbath (my all time fave). But when I showed her Slipknot, she said what the fuck is that??? When she passed I put my Slipknot cap in her coffin and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Metal can bring EVERYONE together.

In my opinion metal is the contemporary equivalent to classical music. Only skilled people can play it. it’s a competition between musicians to see who’s more skillful and or deep
@bigman6977
@bigman6977 4 жыл бұрын
@@alfredthegreatkingofwessex6838 good metal music is played by skilled people. There's a lot of bad metal bands that are trying so much to be brutal, that they eventually don't make any sense. Not saying that brutal metal bands are bad, I love them. But it can't be unintelligible crap that you can't differentiate it between music and just pretty much guitar feedback mixed with bad riffs.

@@invalidname43 dude so what because they're successful they shouldn't care? The big bangs like them are the ones who have to stand up for the up and comers because the smaller younger bands don't have the pull to defend themselves.... all creatives should herald Metallica for having the balls to fight for everyone.... they don't need the money its principal based not strictly monetarily based

(paraphrased from Platoon) "If there's a Heaven, & God I hope there is, Cliff is up there playing bass and smoking grass. Cuz he done left his cares down here." The Universe tends to unfold as it should, & if there is one single metal idol who is a gramma's boy, it's Cliff fuckin Burton. God squished him quick so he wouldn't have to deal with all the bullshit we're looking at in the world rignt now & how his band morphed.

@@gourdguru I'm jewish and I have a fuckton of Metal Merch and that is what I primarily listen too. Believe it or not but the first thing that got me into metal is an israeli hard rock/heavy metal band called "HaYehudim" - "The Jews" and I remember my father introducing them to me when I was 5. Today I listen even to Deathcore lmao (compared to this Post-Grunge Alternative Rock/Metal music) People who say that metal is devilish don't have a clue what they are talking about and what they're missing.

Not the "Berlin wall" but the "Iron Curtain". Soviet Union was very strict towards anything from overseas. Foreign music, clothing, technology basically everything was banned in times of former Soviet Union. After the "Iron Curtain" was removed citizens of former Soviet Union(that turned into Russia after the collapse of USSR government) got access to a lot of things from all over the world and this concert was THE FIRST metal concert with foreign bands. It's legendary and this is a piece of history. I was born in 1994 and heard some stories of this event from people who actually were there. Great channel, really love you two and greetings from Russia, Moscow. By the way I suggest you react to Pantera - Domination from that same concert. Pure metal in it's prime.

The times I´ve seen videos from this concert its been said that when Pantera (see Domination from the same concert) played there were 700 000 thousand in the crowd which then expanded to a sea of 1,6 million when Metallica went up on stage. After them was AC/DC and that apparently brought the masses up to an immense 2 million. Incredible. Much love from Sweden!

This song, at this concert, and the context surrounding the concert, makes this the most influential moment in rock and roll history. The song is about the oppressed getting revenge on their oppressors.

We wish we could remember, haha. We don't think it was listening to metal music though. We obviously were missing out. Never too late.

A huge congratulaciones for you,pretty old women..It is amazing and confortable, to observé people like ( as) you..spending time opening yours .minds..about others ways, differents views..from the music. Sadly,in my country,people like us..we are weird for the most. ,people had a very bad percepción about of our favorite músic. Sorry for my bad english..I love you. Both..you are AWESOME!!

Awesome channel. The bigger this channel gets the more you might see comments being rude or hateful. I really hope it doesn't drive you away. Hopefully yall can brush it off and not take it personally. I really enjoy your reactions.

this concert was a gift from Boris Yeltsin for stopping the coup. if you watch the video closely the first 4 or so rows down front are Red Army soldiers trying to keep things in line, but at the end they were rocking out too. its a great moment in history
