Nice work! Great fixes to keep it on the road. MG TDs originally came with telescoping steering columns. This one seems to be missing a couple parts. It could keep you from skinning your knuckles on the dash. But as you noted, there isn't a whole lot of space in there.

At first, I would have sworn it was a VW based kit car. But no. Huh. It seems the VW based car was more accurate than I thought. I love the looks of a TC but never could fit in one.

According the the original manual the steering rack is 90 weight oil

To stop speedometer needle bounce oil or light grease the lower 3/4 of the drive cable leaving 3 inches not lubed on the Speedo end the cable is dry causing the inner drive cable to bind then flip around affecting the magnetic impulse in the speedo head same seen on the rev counter on start up

Heading out at 230 am from little America Wyoming for a brat rack which steers sharper than a sedan and wagon.. plus you mention collom key,, I have to get 2 shafts done for a square key, on the mystery unit.. got 4.5 drawings done 3 from pnwme.. people are happy ..tires are up ,, leak went away? Going to love unpacking all those car parts that I took to Kentucky

Shocks can be rebuild but check the hydraulic oil levels. Interesting to see that the lower front A arms and probably the same as on the Singer. Singer being a tiny firm might have used the same front end or it has been converted.

Congrats especially for the steering wheel fix, 'cause it's been said the most important nut on a car is the one that holds the wheel. And, like you said, there's nothing like having the steering wheel fall off in your hands. It would definitely erode your sense of confidence.

Have you gotten some Armstrong shock oil and topped up the shocks? You won't get any damping action if they are low on oil.

there is at least one rubber seal in the hub that rides on that metal cone. if the seal is damaged or worn out or the metal cone's surface is not completely smooth, the differential oil will leak into the brake drum backing plate area. and may get on the brake shoe surfaces. another potential cause for axle leakage... there is a very small vent hole on the TOP of the axle housing, just to the left of the crown ring and pinion bulge. if it is plugged or restricted in any way, the expansion of the oil in the differential when brought up to temp on a long drive at speed, may be forced through the rubber seals at either side of the rear wheels.

The zerk on the steering rack is for oil. I believe it’s the same as the transmission oil

no, more likely the weak battery. it lit up during more gas, which means that there wasn't enough tension (volts) in it.

2:11 1970 N600 has same adjusters. 3:21 CAT converter thief broke it 😕 10:11 I could make you a delrin bushing on my lathe.
