I live in Semarang right now. You can do many things here actually. You can ride your motorcycle to the top of Mount Telomoyo, seing the Rawapening Lake in Ambarawa, or exploring the tea plantation in the south west Semarang. But it seems you already in east java right now. Hope someday you have time to explore central java. The road from Semarang to Dieng Plateau is also amazing. Btw for the Kalimantan section, you miss the others unique road sections. I did road trips there. The first one is from Palangkaraya (central kalimantan) to Banjarmasin (South kalimantan). Between this to cities you will find a long bridge which cross the swamp area of Sebangau National Park. And in south kalimantan, you can't miss Loksado, a place in mountainous area in the meratus mountain range. Here you will find w lot of beautiful scenery from it's river, tropical forest, conical karst mountain, etc. You can enjoy it while riding. You can try the bamboo rafting also here. This place is also the gate to know the daily life of dayak meratus people. I spent 3 nights here just because of its serene. From Loksado, you can ride to Batulicin city. You will love the ride! This route will pass the mountainous region with a lot of breath taking sceneries. You will also can find a massive conical karst area there. From Batulicin, you can cross to the Laut Island. There you can find a good beaches. Or just directly go to the north from Batulicin To Tanah Grogot in East Kalimantan. Between this city, you will also pass a wide area of karst conical jungle also. I did it a few years ago for a loop line track. Tanah Grogot - Batulicin - Kotabaru (Laut Island)- Batulicin - Loksado - Kandangan - Barabai - Amuntai - Tanjung - Muara Kuaro - Kuaro - Tanah Grogot. Amuntai is a lowland city. They have a big swamp area and even they have a road over the swamp. It's unique and beautiful to see at the sunset time. Meanwhile, between Muara Kewaro to Kuaro, there's a long and tall cliff right to the side of the road. Even you can see the great Mount Meliat along the roand and you can find a waterfall just on the road side. If you're lucky, you can find that big nose monkey like you found in Tanjung Puting National Park.

On the island of Java, I suggest you to beautify this Dorco 😆, make custom iron for Dorco, or fix the suspension, or make a custom suspension, maybe buy a good one, so that you are more comfortable riding in Indonesia, because on the island of Java there are many motorbike repair shops and many resources.

We started in Jakarta on Dorco! I hope that we can get the Bajaj Pulsar 220 in better shape as it is a difficult bike to enjoy at the moment! Thanks for riding along with us!

Even worked at ferry ship Banjarmasin-Surabaya at 2000 until 2004, cocroach is normal for the crews. We still work, eat, sleep, pray as usual.. .maybe the insect had know well our smell, no bother-no bite-just pass away.. .But for passenger, maybe the cocroach find new smell/blood/food to be prey.. .idk, LOL.. .

Indeed! It is similar to mosquitoes as well. Local people don't have nearly as bad of a reaction to their countries mosquito bites as foreigners. Weird

Almost all long-distance ferries in Indonesia we will always find cockroaches like that, they are not local cockroaches but German cockroaches. I can only hope that the quality of sea transportation in Indonesia can be improved because sea transportation in Indonesia is very much needed to connect between islands. Are you also going to pass through the southern route of East Java? That's one of the new trails that's pretty good to go on.

I was in an emergency room in Anchorage because I had something stuck in my ear. The emergency room nurse told me the number one thing that people come to have removed from their ears is cockroaches. Apparently, it is because once they get in the air canal they can't back out. She said it is most common among people that sleep on mattresses on the floor. I told the ER nurse I was going home and adding 4 mattresses to my bed. How's that for a nightmare scenario?

Hello Tim and madame. Welcome to Java... actually it will be much better if you explore central java first before you're heading off to east Java. From Semarang you can go down south about 100 km to Yogyakarta, the rich cultural city in central Java where you can find borobudur and prambanan temple.
