I think he does great work and I love all of his videos. I have been working on all of my big boy toys and I rarely ever bring it in for somebody else to work on it. I have had great luck with my machines. I have owned three sport ATVs and six motorcycles and I still have my first sport bike I ever bought which is a 2000 Honda CBRF4 which was the last year they made the carbureted engine. I bought the motorcycle from my friends dads shop in Green Bay Wisconsin and it had 4200 miles on it and currently it has over 65,000 and I have taken it out half a dozen times this year and it runs great and everything works like it should. The only thing I replaced on that bike that failed on its own was the carburetor assist other than that everything else I have done myself which is the normal wear and tear parts. I have went through almost 20 sets of motorcycle tires and Have ridden over 120,000 miles

Not the smartest of practices, I always tighten down to speck and the only time I've had issues us when I've bought second or fifth hand and others have over loctited bolts or rust has effected them .

I was an electronic tech for 33 years and could diagnose any problem with the circuits just by the problem that it was causing.i did a lot of field work and travelling around Canada.i did a lot of consulting been retired for over 30years love your knowledge and solving problems keep learning every problem is different love your show I am 88 years old keep up your good work.

My nephew bought a 99. I called it the basket case bike. The bike never ran right and couldn't get out of its own way. After cleaning and re-timing the power valves it actually tried to be a real bike! Thank you for the great videos as always.

Guy your diagnostics with electrical is most impressive, I have rebuilt top ends , Ihave split cases and done the crank and all. But i didn`t have any electrical issuses, these were great running running machines, your electricc diagnostics is through the charts my friend. When somebody blew up my2010 sea doo xp 130 hp it was $ 850 just for the new crank with exchange, I marked all the carb settings with paint markers and put it back together just as marked, it ran like a top, your skills are off the charts my friend, love what you do, be well buddy.

Joe you make an excellent video, what a polished production. First to set the scene, a blue Wisconsin day, no wind, geese flying above and that 125 ringing out across the neighbourhood. A lot of the appeal is the way you narrate your thoughts, you comment about the way it is and simultaneously, the way it should be. but its the methodical way you go through the steps each time, compression, spark, fuel, leaks. The jetting to be perfect changes with the temperature of the day with my experience to keep my cr125 ripping as a kid ride a 650 dual sport for 2 wheel off road. You sure do a good job. Make me think about getting a cr250 lol

I use an electric one because it has less pressure. A pressure washer can cut seals, CV boots and bend radiator fins.

I'd check stock pilot jet size and needle setting, and adjust accordingly. If your air screw is out 3 turns, yes, go to a size leaner pilot jet or check to see if the float level is correct, as a high float level will do the same thing. Needle could stand dropping a notch to see if it cleans up your midrange. Great video, Joe! This bike f'n' rips!

Have this same bike!!! Hate that carb but had luck with 42 pilot and clip 1 and 2 positions down. My bike had has vforce reeds and full fmf exhaust though (not sure if this matters for pilot jet or not). I ended up doing a knock off Keihin PWK carb swap ($35). Much less finicky. With that said love your channel, has taught me so much. You figured out in 1 day what I messed with for a year when I got the bike. The power valve off by a tooth made me chuckle, I did the same thing first time I rebuilt it. I think the water in the carb came from power washing and the fact that the carb is missing two hoses. Regardless awesome job!!! Keep it coming.

I may have bought that exact bike brand new! I put Amsoil stickers on the white side plastics right where that one is! Bought it new in 2001 as a hold over and rode it for a couple years then sold it to a kid from the twin cities metro area. Can’t say it was mine for sure but it looks the part. Ran great when I sold it I swear! 🤣

I’ve got a 2001 cr125 I’ve been chasing the same bog for a year and only 3months ago I worked it out and very similar to you but my valve was sticking shut catching on the bridge 👍solved that but then the spring on the valve that helps the tension would slip the other side of the arm so I made a washer to make the forked spring sit straight and stop slipping of the arm 🤞still waiting to race it again but I have faith that it’s solved coz it was ripping nicely until the spring slipped and lost all top end Only sussed the spring coz I initially thought I’d done the piston so was stripping it down and the spotted the spring 😂 Good video like watching your channel coz you do get to the bottom of things 👍

In regards to the diagnosis I believe making small adjustments like the needle first before jetting. In later versions I believe they changed the power valve assembly to a 9x18x7 seal that would require about .030 diameter machine work and .080 depth. It would fix the leak down problem.

great job keep it up i love the channel but you really have to flip that washer/bushing on the powervalve arm it goes on the outside of the linkage so the washer part keeps it from wanting to pop off example at 52:23 you can see if the clip doesnt have enough sticking out the top it could slip off that is what i believe happened to it the first time when you opened the cover and it was off especially with that makeshift piston ring clip holding it lol

Great job. My only complaint if you were fixing a bike for me would be that cheap pack job you did on the silencer. But if you’re buying and flipping bikes then I totally get doing it as cheap as possible to keep the process fast and cheap. Great job man. Keep up the builds. Love the videos.

You do a great job of showing and explaining what you are doing to fix things. That can be hard to do for some people. My buddy had a race track in his back yard,,kinda like you do. One day he took his 500 Honda for a ride ,on straight away he was going fast and found a new ramp that he didnt know about but too late to stop. He hit it going way too fast and crashed hard!!!! Broke some bones and his helmet went flying off his head on impact!!! His kids built the ramp and didnt tell him about it!!!

Joe, I think it would be nice to let your viewers know what mechanical schools you attended. Where you obtain those special tools like pullers and stuff. Your KZbin page is a benefit to all of us. Like others I have learned stuff I did not know about. Im 72 years old. An old school mechanic back in the days when there were no water cooled motorcycles. Familiar with brands like 1960's Ducati, Benelli, Parilla, Caprillo, Royal Enfield, Triumph, BSA, Greeves, Vantech, and nany more you may never heard of.

i had a 125 Husky with a similar problem when the cylinder was oval by only a few thousandths... but then it was harder to start.... a fresh cylinder and it was crazy fast...a poor ground and disconnected power valve could certainly cause problems..

I've seen nothing but good things and anyone that actually works on anything can see that or he wouldn't get the views that he gets. And those negative comments are in every video that gets views of any kind because the ppl that leaving those comments are miserable keyboard warriors who have probably never turned a wrench or are the professional who is or has been professionally trained that are such wise assess they wouldn't make it on a KZbin channel.
