It's videos like this that helped me progress in the RC hobby. The Boosts are brilliant for the newcomer or youngster. That bolt you "didn't need to remove" just holds the plate to the diff housing i think. Great Video Gav.

Great starter RC. Just fitted the 4x4 kit with a 3660 4000kv motor & 120amp ESC. Excellent value 👍🏻

Mine is boosted 3s but still 2wd and use some metal parts like diff and driveshafts wheel hubs which add more weight to the tail for traction.

I'm looking to get back into 'RC' used run nitro monster trucks and a 2 geared Schumacher. Sold everything years ago and regretted it. This could be a good starting point for me and slowly upgrade as I go

I just got my ARRMA Senton, waiting until better weather but I will be saving this video for later when I am ready to upgrade
@hardywoodaway99129 ай бұрын
spare yourself a lot of money and buy 3rd party parts instead like RCAWD etc. also arrmas esc are just Hobbywing ripoffs for double the price. just buy a hobbywing combo, it’s way better with more amps
@Jared-jx4mi9 ай бұрын
@@hardywoodaway9912Thanks :D I was looking at suspension from RCAWD but I wasn't sure if they were a good place to buy from (new to RC).

The propshaft support too. £6 and just a bolt to hold it into the chassis then the propshaft needs the included bearing in the centre. ❤❤

Im having a hard time spending money on the boost upgrade kits when the BLX version that comes with all the upgrades is the same price as just a couple of the boost box upgrades. I did the 4x4 kit and now i can only run half a pack before the motor starts to get too hot. Already burnt out a couple brushed motors because of it.
@beandean35611 ай бұрын
Buy the BLX version and use the other car for parts. Look at the ARRMA 3S Brushless Conversion BOOST Box and then look at how much all them parts cost separately and do the math.
@wreckemrc11 ай бұрын
@@beandean356 yeah i was just doing some comparisons, the 3s kit is $200 the metal diff it $100 the 4x4 is $40, the blx is $330 so ill save ten bucks lol
@RCKickschannel11 ай бұрын
Purchasing the top of the range Senton will always be cheaper in the long run if you plan on upgrading a basic boost with all the boost boxes for sure. The down side is you pay more to start with and this can be an issue if you end up slinging it in the garage after a week and never using it again or you just don't have the budget for the BLX to start with. Upgrading over time is cheaper at the beginning as well as it makes the car feel more like your own as you pick what upgrades you want to do as well as spreading the costs over a longer period. Not one thing fits all so you need to think about what works best for you.

That was pretty cool. That bearing fitment is a bit of a worry though.
@robertward504711 ай бұрын
I've done a couple of these and the bearings were a nightmare. Even with grease I got there in the end. If you watch the official arrma video the guy just slips them on by hand with no issue.
@RCKickschannel11 ай бұрын
No chance of getting mine on by hand but hopefully if someone is struggling and looks up the video it will help them out a little. Thanks for watching :)

@leehurst692211 ай бұрын
Not sure if it's a good idea to grease where the bearing sits on the axle as the bearing is supposed to be tight so that the balls do the work rather than the bearing housing spinning
@RCKickschannel11 ай бұрын
I didn't want to use too much side force on the bearings when fitting them as it would be easy to damage the bearings from side impacts. OMG the bearing were so tight on the driveshaft and I had no chance of pushing them on. Even with the grease it was harder than I would like to so and no chance the bearings will slipping but I do understand your point as you would build heat if the baring core if it was spinning on the axel.

I’m still going down this route with my boost but I’ll pick up the metal diff for around £50 on eBay then the drive shafts and prop it’s more expensive but I do plan to run a max8 system 😁 totally overkill but fun nonetheless
@RCKickschannel11 ай бұрын
Yep that will fly! I am impressed with the approach Arrma has taken with this clearly defined upgrade path for beginners and hopefully it will encourage more beginner RTR fans to get the spanners out and give it a go.
@Murphys_Law910 ай бұрын
Funny thing is u can save about $100 and go with another 3s system
@RCKickschannel10 ай бұрын
Don’t forget you still need to purchase the slipper as the 3S boost box isn’t just an ESC and motor. That said, yes you have so many choices on ESC and motors you could find something cheaper but you have to know what to choose, what’s better and what’s worse and that kind of defeats the point for someone who just wants a turnkey solution due to being a beginner. Also, you will not get any manufacturer support if you mix and match and for a beginner, this support can also get them out of any difficulties. You have to remember, just because you have all the RC knowledge, it’s not the same for everyone and this product just isn’t for your skill level and price point.
