Haha thanks for the laughs Gareth, those are evil! you know I live in Thailand and everything here is pretty hot and I tried these some time ago, same reaction as you! thought I was going to die of hiccups or sweating profusely. This Korean company also make a line of crisps along the same formula and I bought a few packs when I saw them in 7/11. I wish there was a warning on them to use rubber gloves and not touch any delicate body parts after eating them. Thanks for the laughs and braving them again haha, cheers ps try a Korean Chilli paste called Gochujang or something like that, great stuff.

I just had a bowl of Shin Ram Yun Korean noodles. You really need to add things to them to make them great. I add sliced shitake mushroom, blanched bean sprouts, finely chopped spring onion, fried fish tofu /fried spam/fried fish balls and a dash of sesame oil. That's how you will get them in the East. Eating them like this is like bread with no butter. Korean noodles are mostly spicy that's why they are the best!

I can feel the heat singeing my eyebrows from here - well done for seeing them through though to the end. It looked like agony! Have a glass of milk or beer to hand next time (if there is one), to alleviate the pain!

Gareth I found another use for those noodle spice packet, it’s called Korean fire chicken. 1 whole chicken (spatchcocked) ½ cup gochujang paste 1 tbsp soy paste or soy sauce 1 garlic clove crushed 1 lime juice 1 packet of spicy fire sauce (from ramen noodle packet) 2 tbsp honey ½ tsp sesame oil sesame seeds for presentation spring onion sliced fine for presentation Spatchcock the chicken. Mix all the other ingredients (except the sesame seeds and onions) together, save ½ a cup separately for basting the chicken at the end. With the main sauce give the chicken a coating on the good side. Set the bbq set up for indirect cooking. When hot place the chicken on the hot side good side down and cook to get the chicken sealed and some nice grill marks, while this side is cooking coat the ugly side then turn over and sear the ugly side. When looking nice coat the chicken with more sauce and move to the indirect side and cook to the finish temperature of 60°c/140°f at the breast, the temperature will rise to the recommended 165°c when rested. remember to check the legs to make sure they are done also. When cooked remove from the grill and using the saved ½ cup of sauce coat the chicken once more, leave the chicken to rest for 5 to 10 minutes then sprinkle with the Sesame seeds and sliced onion. Recipe is for the BBQ but can be easily adapted for the oven, and it looks good but it’s not as hot as the noodles.
