I always loved how Bob was actually very supportive of Eric. He never once doubted he was the guy for her and would’ve loved to have him as a son in law. His anger at Eric for defiling her notwithstanding. There still isn’t anyone else he’d rather see her end up with. Also the one thing he and red have in common is that they approve of the others child to end up with their own, despite not really getting along that well!

​@mcswain69 lived through it. Many USA cars got 8 to 12 miles/gallon highway and had 20 gal tanks. Sure Detroit was making "fuel efficient" vehicles. They got maybe 20 mpg, terrible performance, were smaller than normal, and easily broke. It was not a great time to own a car or truck. Either high gasoline prices with a nice vehicle or so-so price and bla vehicle. In 1980, i owned a 1977 1/2 ton truck. LOVED that truck. But hideous quality. Literally fell apart like the Bluesmobile while parked 3 months over the winter in the driveway. Supension spring, front ball joint, rear axle, rear drum brake, and alternator broke or FELL OFF while parked. Put it on a trailer and took to scrapper. Really liked that truck, but too much wrong. Engineers took too much out to get the mpg.
