I like the older Rokon Trail Breakers with the Drum Type Wheels, that had the SELECTABLE GEAR SHIFTER on the left hand side of the fuel tank. They were faster, than these newer ones. My family & I owned 3 Rokons. Wish I had another, they were so much fun, and built like a tank.

Keep in mind the Rokon Ranger is street legal so they would be ideal in a winter storm and you need to get to work. It's not like road conditions will ever be like what their doing in this video. Also they make a gang reel mower for these so imagine the many uses!

@marzsit98335 жыл бұрын
in these videos they always focus on the bike traversing the nastiest crap, so that's why you never see them cruising along terrain that would allow you to use the footpegs. i've ridden one at max speed, about 30mph over wet beach sand with both feet on the pegs and it was really stable.
@pjcd70165 жыл бұрын
They have three speeds, when climbing or going over difficult terrain, the low speed is more effective for that type of terrain.

I like the idea of the go anywhere bike with extra fuel capacity in the hollow wheels but the engine seems underpowered for its size, most 125cc bikes have a lot more hp than this.He was struggling in the snow, wasting fuel, he'd have been much better off with a caterpillar track on the back.
@MrAluminox7 жыл бұрын
The 125 bike would be totally unable to go in the snow. The power is in accordance with the capability of the tires in grip in slippery terrain. Low end torque is more interesting than high HP in very rugged terrain. It uses a simple industrial engine easy to maintain. The trick is in the transmission and the partition of the power. between the 2 wheels The bike is made for military and farmers with no special driving skills. You take it and after a 2 days training you can go everywhere. It's an all year/all terrain bike so there are compromises. I have used a Rokon in Utah in the mountains in sand and very hard trails with 18 inches slabs. It was almost as good as my mule, except that my mule was very smart, and was able to choose for me the best trail.
@johnjriggsarchery24576 жыл бұрын

Russian also made 2x2 motorcycle ,it is called Taurus 2x2 By the way, the problem of 2x2 is they are too dangerous for on road purpose because have no center differential. That why ,they just created for off road only & low speed vehicle.
@rawsonforever6 жыл бұрын
Rokons aren't meant for roads their top end is just over 30 mph. They do have a type of limited slip differential on the drive shaft between the gear box and front wheel. They call it a Override Spring. Rokons are old tech. They've been in production for over 60 years. They will go anywhere just slowly.
@martinrussell97264 жыл бұрын
Had one in Alaska in the early 70's. They really will handle most terrain. I don't remember them being so noisy. Perfect for hunters if you set up camp a day before the hunt. (P.S. Don't think they were as outrageously priced either.)

I have a Trailreaker and trust me it has enough balls to climb a almost straight incline. Just take your legs off the pegs and almost lay your belly accross the seat and hang on for dear life on the handlebars as it drags you up. lol If it went any faster it would be way sketchy. And it weights enough already, no need for 4 stroke weight.

I keep thinking of having an electric motor mounted above front wheel with chain drive and a separate control "throttle" perhaps atv thumb type? And not a lot of battery saving the front drive for ONLY when actually needed ....because these things as is are obnoxiously slow and poorly suspended ....I owned a Yamaha BW200 with balloon tires rear drive that I swear could easily go all the places I see this group riding....way faster way easier way more comfort...why yamaha stopped making that bike? idk...I mean it was TERRIBLE the moment it got on asphalt but ANYTHING dirt or sand it was beyond asweome! The only thing similar was Honda Fat Cat of same vintage and the yamaha TW200 with nowhere near the capabilty of the BW having less than half as fat of tires ....IF the BW200 had my part time electric motor front drive? I believe it would be the ultimate go anywhere motorcycle ...oh yeah and there were actually two othe sybling BWs Yamaha made...the BW80 and the BW350....never rode the 350 but we had and loved the 80! Nearly Uncrashable childs bike!
