Glad I found this I just bought a 21 elevation and it was noisy like a loud diesel. Got worried I was low on oil because no codes were thrown but i got a little worried but I figure it’s just trying to regen

I've only noticed the change in mpg when the regen occurs. Typically my 2021 averages 30-35 mpg (I'm a conservative driver). This is the best truck I have ever owned (about 10 or 12 in my driving years) and I am 79.

I notice temp difference, and yeah yo your point MPG drops as the ECU is over fueling I’m the after treatment system to increase EGTs to burn off soot

Does it smoke white out of the exhaust? I just started my truck to warm it, and it was smoking white, and the smell was pretty stink. Runs perfectly fine.

Cold starts and until it warms up in the winter it rolls raw diesel out the tailpipes lol

I have 4000 miles on my 3.0 and the def fluid gage hasn't moved a fraction ? Is something wrong with my gauge or does it take a while before it starts showing that it's using def ?

I just hit 4000 on 21’ def gauge is about half. Heaviest thing that’s been in the bed is a four wheeler. Taking it for the first oil change soon

I had the same experience. Eventually it moves. It absolutely sips it if you aren’t towing.

I noticed that when I bought mine, the DEF lasted about 7,000 to 8,000 miles. After that, it kinda varies between 5,000 and 8,000.

@@VictorMarines06 yea it really doesn’t use much. Can go the full 5k oil change interval no problem. Unless you’re towing!

I've now owned two GM Duramax pickups: A 2015 2500 and then a 2017 Colorado ZR2. While both trucks have been great--diesels have been destroyed by pollution mitigation devices that add thousands to the sticker price and will expensively fail one day. I know we need a cleaner earth, but diesels are just not worth it anymore unless you tow very heavy trailers because diesels thrive when under heavy load.

I love this truck, I got it bellow msrp. It has a 100k warranty, I doubt I’ll even keep it that long so not too worried about issues. It’s been getting 28mpg easily, obv the only thing that’s been crappy are the fuel prices. But hey you gotta drive anyway, so it is what it is

@@mikhails_meats_n_motors Yes. At one point--it cost me $130.00 to fill my Colorado with diesel this past summer. Saudi Arabia cut oil production again to influence our 2022 elections--so get ready for diesel to go up again. The world sucks!
