My Raptor R did that to me the first day I had it driving it from Virginia to San Antonio. Thankfully I was able to get to a rest area, put it in park, turn it off, and then turn it off. I looked underneath the truck, checked the fluids and everything was fine. 4 months later, 4500 miles, and it hasn’t happened again. It was a scary event though, especially given how far away from home I was and how much money I paid for it.

The clutch basket seal has a TSB. One of the seals slips out and causes this drivability issue. They have to open up the transmission and completely change out the clutch basket to a redesigned one. TSB 22-23-50

I think the Bronco and most of the other vehicles would be better off without driving modes and electric auto transmissions and electric transfer cases. Simplicity is sometimes much better than lots of electric functions that are prone to malfunctions.

I went from a 2020 Ranger to a 2021 Bronco Sport. The battery had to be replaced after a month of ownership. Six months later, I had a couple of water leaks and it was determined by the dealership my Bronco Sport wasn't welded together correctly from the factory. I traded it for a Dodge. I will never buy another Ford again! Good Luck with yours.

@@BaconatorJR1 From time to time the screen on the radio/HVAC/back up camera would freeze up. According to the dealership, there was to much information coming through and the computer would get confused. Shutting off the truck for between five and fifteen minutes would reset it.

I drove 3 new f150's. Tremor and 2 others. 2 eco boost and 1 with the 5.0. All 3 had transmission issues. Shifting too much , in the wrong gear , not downshifting properly. The dealership said you just have to get used to it. No! Didn't buy a ford. Shame.

Hey Ben! Love your videos. I just picked up a low mileage LX 570 (Land Cruiser), partly based on your reviews and the fact that you picked up a LC200 yourself. There are so many systems running on the late model trucks that the trucks will either go into limp mode or SEEM to, with almost no accelerator response and odd electronics behavior when the power supply (battery and/or alternator) is low. Rebooting via turning it off, opening and closing your door, and restarting can clear the issue. (Example: Jump starting a vehicle that had low battery voltage may result in this behavior when you first set out. Stop and reboot to clear it.) I would certainly have the battery thoroughly checked (not just voltage). Regarding towing: You should check your Ford roadside assistance terms to see what the mileage or dollar limits are (or anything about off road recovery) and consider adding roadside assistance through your insurance plan. That is usually a few dollars and your agent can piggyback coverage to make up for or minimize any shortfall.

Isn’t it more that content creators are all going out and buying new model vehicles to generate content, but the new model vehicles tend to have more issues than follow-on years of the same brand/model? I think it’s a great way to have others compare vehicle capabilities and publicly identify early-model issues for the manufacturers to fix before folks like me look at buying them 1-3 years later. I wouldn’t buy a Bronco, but it’s still nice to see various capabilities and shortcomings compared to its competition.

Was driving a BMW on the interstate once and it went into limp mode losing power and staying at a lower rpm. Dealer told me to shut it off and wait a minute for things to reset then turn it back on. It worked, but was a little unnerving. I’m sure you will get it fixed. That’s what warranties are for. 😎

I've got almost 4k miles on my Bronco Raptor, taken it on multiple technical trails, and haven't had one issue. Hopefully it stays that way. I have a bumper to bumper 10yr/100k mile extended warranty for peace of mind.

Sorry to hear that. I was hoping you'd be one of the rare (it seems) new Ford owners that wouldn't experience a myriad of issues. I was a Ford fan until 2018 when they rolled out the 10 speed transmission and Ford QA went in the dumpster. I really loved my 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat with the FX-4 package. But with their quality issues and recalls I'd never own another one at this point.

It's possible that there's a bad wire or ground that is causing glitches due to vibration. It would vibrate and suddenly start to act normal, only for more vibration to trigger the issue again.

Maybe it happened when you changed your battery, you can scan it but in the older fords it fixes by itself. Sometimes the vehicle restarts the computer and does a little scan by itself. Maybe it would fix itself in a couple days.

I find manufactures in general have been struggling with quality control last few years. My personal experience with fords has been the mechanical aspect of the vehicle has been fine but the software has issues but they’re drivable laptops nowadays annoyingly so that’s to be expected. When you look at the units sold vs units affected by issues there’s more vehicles without issue than with them just sucks when you’re in the group that has issues.

Just like my 22 F150 powerboost. Temperamental, quirky, and then everything acts normal once you pull into the dealership. Which sucks because they can’t figure it out. I wish something would just break and get it over with. Different than what you are experiencing but some sort of electrical or transmission issue. But it hasn’t left me stranded 🤷‍♂️😂

My '23 Sierra did that to me a couple of months ago. I was in Auto 4WD and I turned out of a parking lot (there was snow on the road) and the truck went into "limp" mode. I couldn't change anything. I made it the short drive home after getting all kinds of warning lights. I shut the truck off and left it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Went back outside, turned the truck on and it was back to normal. Problem hasn't repeated itself. My truck only had about 8000 miles on it at the time. I talked to the dealership when I took it in for an oil change and they couldn't find anything wrong. These new trucks are giant computers and sometimes they go wonky for no reason.

If you are gonna get a ford, it has to be pre 2020 and it must be as stripped as possible. I used to own a fully loaded 2016 fusion awd ecoboost. The engine and transmission were the only things on that car that didnt regularly fail and cost me hundreds of dollars. Got sick of it and went the truck route, got lucky. Found a 2018 f150xlt with the 3.5l. Doesnt have the tow package so no infotainment which is fine by me because fords infotainment is trash. Not even usable half the time. It has no features whatsoever. Only problem its had in the 3 yrs ive owned it is the transmission blew at 110k, but that was also do to the dealer scamming me when i was bringing it in for maintenance. Which i sued them for and got a nice payday. Do not buy a new ford, or anything 2020 or onward.

Ford has some loyal buyers, but they are not very smart. You see all these break downs and they keep forking over the money to them. Our last Ford a 2015 Fusions SE died at 22k miles cracked cylinder head in 3 places. Fixed under warranty and then nothing but troubles there after so I traded for a 2020 Camry SE and we have had it 2 years and not one problem yet knock on wood! Never buying Ford again I am done with them unless its a Pre 1996 Classic. I have been left stranded by 2 Fords the 2015 Fusion SE and a 80's Escort.

I have a 21 Bronco and never had an issue. Fully modded goes off road all the time. Hit a bad pothole at speed, and my TPS sensor came loose and caused all kind of havoc. System did reset itself, and no issues. New vehicles will have some issues with the computers. It happens. But lol I love the overreactions in this thread.

My old beater 2010 Fusion Sport with 275,000 miles will outlast most new Fords.
