This is brilliant!! I can probably get my L28 to top out at 205hp with some more work. You've got a very impressive car. And your torque curve is beautiful. Great racing too!! 10/10

I can only imagine what a handful this must be to drive. High power, light car, no PS, no PB (?) no ABS, and you drive like a maniac. Hahahaha Great video, thank you.

I'm so glad. Truth be told, my past videos have also inspired me to finish whenever I am struggling with depression or finances. Weird how that works!

In the bloopers at Deer Park, I was chief right in front of where you spun out, haha. Can't wait to see you and it back out, Mark. Been too long.

Awesome. I'm doing my best to do a long trip this summer that has an event in Packwood in June. I wish I had the tires you do, but my little 510 can still move.

Awesome Z...watched a couple of your other videos. I have a 71 240Z... turbo megasquirt hx35 billet compressor 10cm exhaust housing. my head has been reworked a lot like yours except for mine is a P90. Although I really wish I could get my hands on some of those rocker arms. I have a long list of mods. it's easier to say what's stock at this point. All the same suspension upgrades... you have a better breaks and Away better paint job. Not sure what size those tires were. I run a staggered set 265/40-17 in the front and 275/40-17 in the rear. I'm running 3.8° camber in the front and that helped alot. I don't run a rear sway bar and I used to run a welded diff but now I have an STI diff. It still turns in pretty well but in corner I like the welded diff a little more. I miss my first Z that I had about 15 years ago used to sound like yours. But then I went the boosted route and I could never give that up.

Looks like an early 5 speed box ( Porsche synchros ), FS5C71A? Your paint looks similar to mine, just a lot cleaner and newer! :D

Any plans to get a rear spoiler or wing? My buddy and I had almost identical 240Zs. Both red and front air dams, but my car had the three piece rear spoiler. My car was still basically stock with the stock wheels and tires. His had wider wheels and tires. One day, we were driving down some farm roads throught the Lettus fields in Salinas at 100 MPH. Going towards Spreckels there was a long straight and a long sweeping turn to the right. I held 100 MPH without any problem, but I noticed Russ slowing down. We talked later and he could not keep the rear from stepping out. Gary Cook a guy that you might know and a SVRA driver said that he would have been better without the front air dam. It pins the front down making the rear even less stable. I was surprised because I still had stock tires and wheels, but Russ had wider wheels and tires. The rear spoiler made that much of a difference. I still love the balance of my car especially with the stiffer springs, sway bars, and wider wheels and tires.

Having auto crossed and road raced a Z car for many years, I think you’ve done a good job with your car. I’m wondering what improvements you’ve done since the video. Have you changed gear ratio, better struts? Best part tho is I can see you’re having fun.
@zredbaron240 Жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, thanks! Definitely having fun. Brake bias was the biggest problem that year once I actually had a front sway bar again. Changes since video include stiffer springs, major reinforcement to front sway bar frame attachment, addition of rear sway bar, new seats, new steering rack, custom steering column, back half roll cage, oil cooler, throttle cable, front crossmember reinforcement, different brake pads all around and completely new calipers and rotors in rear. Haven’t had a chance to check the new brake balance yet. Unfortunately I haven’t had the seat time the car deserves due to health challenges the past few years. I’ve been working hard to get out there this summer (‘23) but the motor has a tick that it never made before (compression and leakdown ok). Chassis is ready to race. I’ll be back out there soon.

I had plans to put ABS brakes to my street Z, i think you need them even more
@zredbaron2405 жыл бұрын
The problem was solved with replacing the brake bias valve and attaining a more appropriate adjustment. ABS isn’t needed. What we see in this video is an imbalanced setup and an aggressive driver. 😆👍🏼
