All this RNG in crafting is the one thing i hate about PoE. Was really hoping theyd update it :(

It all comes down to calculated risk taking. Like most things in POE, there is a way to get these things guaranteed (buying them in this case). But this is on average more expensive. As you pay for the risk the crafter took, the actual cost, and the knowledge the crafter needed to aquire in order to make the item. Overall I think its a good system. But when that RNG works against you, yeah. That feels exceptionally bad.

That would kill value retention and stop people from farming for mats. Arpg games rely on rng to keep people playing.

this was almost the perfect video. i have been looking for a step by step crafting video. kudos for taking multiple pieces of gear and explaining the steps to get what you want. the only downside is it went a little too fast. i keep watching and rewinding to try to fully digest the steps. a slightly slower pace when crafting the boots and helmet would have made this the perfect introduction to crafting video.

How do i know which grey item to use for crafting tho?

This depends on what Item you want to wear. Lets say you are looking at a Build Guide, and they use a yellow "Dragonscale Boots". When you hold "Alt-Key" on your keyboard while mouse over the Item, you see its Itemlevel. For certain modifiers to appear on higher Tier, you need an Item with Itemlevel 84 or higher.

Great video ! One thing i want to know is that if ur looking to craft an item. How do you know what mods to go first. Or Suffix or prefix first

Thats a good question! Try to reverse-engineer the crafting process. I always look it in this way: 1. Determine which mods i want to have 2. What mod would be the most difficult to achieve 3. Can i combine that specific mod in a certain way (Example: I want a difficult to achieve Suffix, but also an Essence which grants Suffix -> Rolling Essences into proccing that Mod)

New player - was having fun - then blew 2 stacks of chroma orbs to get a bbrb - all 40 variations where gr combos. Now i will be quitting this game - and that was 1 piece of armor Now i have a piece of main armor - also spent quality orbs - that i cant use in the build

Hey mate! First of all, you seem to do certain crafts with chromas/quality orbs that u are currently not able to afford. Thats the first problem here. Later on, you will have thousand of chromatic orbs, not just 2 stacks. Monsters will drop more then 2 stacks at once. Second of all, you are trying to achieve blue blue red blue on an item that gives you a lot of green. As stated in the video, Dexterity is more linked to green, int to blue and str to red. It seems that the item base that you use requires you to have a lot of dexterity, which then causes the outcome of chromatic orbs to be more often green sockets. I also do think that you want to quiet the whole game just because u used 40 orbs (of orbs that you will have thousands) is too much, then you should quit it. Later on in the game, you will spend more then 40 of orbs that are 1000 times more expensive then chromatic orbs.

When you start saying easy, I laugh ! As with most crafting tutorial videos, the downfall /waste of time for beginners, is that the video guide ASSUMES you have all the crafting currency NEEDED to do it ! And that's the D@#N problem !! We're Not good enough to go higher maps for that currency !! Putting the cart before the horse !!!! Never can get the right # of soc's /colors before running out of currency !!

I think you are correct about this, but we focused on one topic: Crafting. Crafting Guides like ours do show different Crafting methods to showcase "what is possible". Surely, a "how to make money" video would be related to that, but this would require more then another 10 minutes of video (especially in Season 3.23, where prices are inflated like crazy). 1. If you struggle with high maps, follow your Build Guide. These are often written so players can reach that level easily. 2. If you are looking for Farm Strategies, we are currently working on some, but in the meantime, check maxroll.gg for some different ideas
