Doing it on t16 for some time allready and got 2 Apo and 2 House of Mirrors. Works there very well too

I was getting frustrated in t17s as it was my first league and i wasn't sure what my build was able to handle and dying quite a bit to random modifiers and told myself i think im done after this last t17 then 20 seconds later double mirror drop out of arcanist strong box.

A bit surprised you don't block some strategies for scarab, maybe droping map chances would make the profit better ?

I was about halfway into the data collection when I realized the same thing. WAY too many maps. I do recommend in the atlas tree section to drop a bunch of map drop chance for more scarabs. Good tip regardless!

i heard it doesnt work in the that way. it doesnt increase the chances for other scarabs, but rather just deletes the scarabs from the ones you blocked.

what kind of dps are you looking for on catarina on average?? i'm a kinetic blast build that isn't yet to effective for single target...

The build that I ran for the strat had around 14 mil shaper dps with only forged frostbearers and a bit less if I had my defensive support spectres on at the time. That was okay for most mods except for extreme combinations like more life, ele res, ghosted.

@@DSJeezy thanks very much for that helpful response. i'm terrified of uber bosses with this character, and even moreso of wasting divs on maps to practice them but I know its the only way. how much EHP do you try to get and any specific layers besides the usual resistances/suppression/ailment avo?

@@Fungorrr No worries! I'm actually setting up a KB character myself. I understand the single target woes. As far as defenses go I'd say it varies per character as each section of the tree excels at its own thing but the build I was running for this strat had about 10k phys max hit and 57k ele max hit. 10k is even quite low and I feel fine unless something actually one shots me which doesn't happen except bosses or that occasional "PoE rare" monster who aligns the planets to mess your day up. Once you can take a hit avoidance and recovery are also super important. Block cap and recovery on block is great. High evasion to make sure you don't take too many consecutive hits paired with flask/leech to top you up before the next hit is good too. I'm not sure your specific situation so I can only give general advice but I hope some of it is helpful!

There is certainly still natural variance. Some of my maps dropped me absolutely nothing. I'd say to keep going but just be aware there may be more dead maps in the future. That's what those boss frags are for!

Why red altars? And why not containment Scarab?

Red altars are really just a cosmetic choice. Blues give more of one stat like raw quant but I benefited so much from many different positive stats that exarch was fine. Blues are totally fine and maybe even better! For the containment scarab it might be worth the investment but I couldn't guarantee that. It would also have pushed the initial investment over the regular expected return per map. You can use it if you like. I always present the strategy exactly as I ran it for clarity but it is definitely open to improvements!

@@DSJeezy if you have the budget for it 100div+ archmage hiero ice nova of frostbolts with the new block shield is amazing I'm face tanking t17 bosses

@@davidmaltais2912 Thanks for the suggestion! I started that back when Archmage got reworked and no doubt it's peak strength now with Svalinn in the mix. I'm currently trying to find myself a build which has a bit more visual clarity than some of my others so far.
