Completely agree, It's a movie about the pain and the seductiveness too: an hymn to sensuality and to empathy. All people colonel Slade meets, change: Charlie is an insecure and lonely boy...too lonely, left alone by his parents, by his schoolmates...in a way, "in the dark" himself without a guide. Slade is blind but has the life in his hands and is the only person who can help him to grow up. Dana changes: dancing with a man who can't see her, but can perceive her youth, the scent and the warmth of her skin, the sweet sound of her laugh using the touch of his fingers, his smell and hearing, she discovers another way of understanding beauty, where there's no place to appearance. She discovers a different world and perhaps, Michael, her rich and vain boyfriend, won't be more part of it... Finally, Slade changes: he's not an useless man as he believed to be: deprived of sight, his life, based on the other senses enhanced in the darkness, is infinitely less ephemeral than a life based on exteriority that is deceptive and often creates preconceptions.
This is my favorite part I was born on ft.still in Oklahoma.

For those who don't know, ' Hooah' is what Army Rangers say. It's not some stupid thing that the writers came up with. And the Carter Slade character was a Ranger.

Thank you. I have seen this film several times but I was not aware that Hooah was an army thing. I thought indeed some stupid thing the writers came up with so thank you again.

Thank you. Yes indeed. I work with an Army Ranger vet. He was down and out because his mom is very ill and I cheered him up on what to do and to do what he needed to, and told him "Lead the Way"... he answered "Hooah"...

Really, this is a small picture of politic. What kind of young man we are going to bring up, really depend on our own spirit. God Bless His people, and all needs truth and love
I think he said, let’s get out of here before he tries to kick me out too
